Carpenters: Carpenter II

Our company specializes in Painting, Carpentry and Ornamental Metal for Commercial and Residential HOA’s and have been in business since 1991.

We are currently hiring for our Carpentry Division for Carpenter II. We have several openings available for Full-Time Carpenters to fill 3 positions at this location and some in other areas of close to areas such as San Fernando Valley, Santa Clarita Valley, Los Angeles.

The Carpenter II is a position with mid to advance skills and knowledge in rough and finish carpentry. The Carpenter II must be able to perform mid to advanced carpentry tasks with minimal to no supervision. Under general supervision of the Foreman.

DUTIES

  • Goes over plans or project details
  • Unload/Load tools, set-up/down equipment at work site
  • Inspects and replaces damaged, rotting decayed, or chips framework or other structures and fixtures
  • Fabrication of custom wood projects; build out fence, deck, and gate etc.
  • Cuts, shapes and measures accurately ensuring materials meet state and local building codes
  • Use of hand tools, including squares, levels, and chisels
  • Use of power tools, such as sanders, circular saws and nail guns
  • Use of stationary woodworking equipment such as table saws, band saws, planers, spindle sanders, radial arm saws, etc
  • Sands and scrapes wood, preparing wood surfaces for finishing
  • Lifting and positioning of large sections of wood
  • Assists in some projects that may include plywood sheathing installation
  • Assists and ensures a clean job site at the end of each day
  • Intermediate to advanced mathematical skills
  • Works at a standard pace of the trade
  • Operates tools and equipment including boom/scissor lift (with certification only) according to established safety procedures
  • Follows established safety procedures and techniques to perform job duties, including lifting, climbing, including reporting safety hazards, on the job accidents, etc.
  • Ability to follow directions and instructions
  • Other duties as assigned

REQUIREMENTS

  • 3+ verifiable years in the trade
  • Experience in commercial/residential HOA’s preferred
  • Owns tools for the trade inlign with years of experience.
  • Mid to advance knowledge and experience in rough carpentry
  • Knowledge and experience in finish carpentry
  • Knowledge of drywall installation
  • Boom lift training certificate or the ability to receive it
  • Available to travel to different job-sites as the position requires
  • Available to work various shifts, extended hours and weekends as business requires
  • Ability to work in a standing position for extended hours
  • While performing the duties of this job, you may be exposed to extreme heat/cold climates
  • Comfortable working on elevated surfaces, work with ladders and extension ladders
  • Works on ladders, retains knowledge on proper ladders use
  • Ability to reach, bend, stoop, push and/or pull up to 40 lbs
  • Ability to pass a background ,drug screen and physical after contingency offer is provided
