Heavy Equipment Operator (Underground Wet Utilities)

We are a 100% employee-owned company where you have the opportunity to become a shareholder and build trustworthy, long-term, mutually profitable relationships.Position SummaryResponsible for operating and maintaining various equipment including excavators, backhoes, loaders, and dozers in a safe expeditious manner and in accordance with OSHA safe practices.Duties and Responsibilities• Comply with operating safety rules and regulations per OSHA safe practices• Inspect equipment and turn in written equipment report daily• Prepare and maintain equipment for safe daily operations (i.e. fuel, grease etc.)• Safely change buckets and attachments in a timely manner• Understand mixing of soil and water content for proper backfill• Able to perform safe and clean trench excavation and backfill• Able to set and pull shield shoring in accordance to OSHA safe practices• Able to calculate and set proper grades and elevations• Able to interact with foreman, superintendents and governing authorities to effectively manage projectPosition Requirements• High school diploma or equivalent• 3-5 years of wet utility heavy equipment operator experience (MUST HAVE)• Extensive knowledge and ability to install sewer, water, fire and storm drain• CPR, Competent Person, Confined Space certifications preferred• Able to work nights, weekends, and overtime as required• Valid driver’s license in good standing• Able to commute to various sites in Southern CA (Los Angeles/Ventura/Riverside/San Bernardino/Orange Counties)Physical Requirements• Requires frequent bending, reaching, standing, walking, squatting, sitting, pushing, and pulling of heavy objects regularly throughout the work shift• Able to work in sun, heat, dry, dirty and dusty conditions• Able to lift a minimum of 75 pounds without assistance• Requires manual dexterity to operate equipment and perform manual responsibilitiesBenefits• Competitive hourly rate• Medical, Dental, Vision and life Insurance• Employee Shares/Stock• Profit Sharing• 401(k)• Paid Time Off/Paid Vacation• 6 Paid Holidays• Opportunities for development and advancement• An employee-owned company culture that values people, principle, and purpose**No third party or agency submissions will be accepted.Job Type: Full-timeSchedule:• Day shift• Monday to Friday• Night shift• Overtime• WeekendsApplication Question(s):• Can you reliably commute to various job site locations throughout Southern California (i.e Los Angeles, Ventura, Orange, Riverside, and San Bernardino County)?Experience:• Heavy Equipment Operations: 3 years (Preferred)• Sewer, water, and storm drain installation: 1 year (Preferred)License/Certification:• Driver’s License (Required)Work Location:• Multiple locationsLabor type:• ConstructionBenefit Conditions:• Waiting period may apply
