Job Summary:

Installs and repairs wiring and electrical fixtures in the Industrial and Commercial field.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Current State Certification for Journeyman
  • Active Electrical Trainee Card for Apprentice
  • 3-5 years’ experience in the Industrial/Commercial Field
  • Have reliable transportation with a clean record
  • Successfully pass a drug test
  • Willingness to travel out of town/state 2-4 weeks at a time
  • Aerial Lift Certification-Scissor/Boom/Fork
  • OSHA 10 or 30
  • Availability to work over-time as needed
  • Know, adhere and enforce safety rules
  • Have own basic hand tools-Tool Belt, Power Drill, Lineman, Needle Nose, Flat and Phil Screwdriver, Torpedo Level, Measuring Tape, Wire Strippers, Side Cutters, Hammer, Beater, Pipe Reamer, Nut Drivers

Job Qualifications:

  • Bend Pipe ½”-3” EMT and Rigid
  • Pull wire #12-500MCM
  • Install lights-Flush mount or recessed
  • Wire make up for lighting, receptacles, motors, panels ETC
  • Plans new or modified installations to provide access for future maintenance and avoid unsightly and hazardous wiring, consistent with specifications and local electrical codes.
  • Prepares sketches showing location of wiring and equipment, or follows diagrams, ensuring that concealed wiring is installed before completion of future walls, ceilings, and flooring.
  • Measures, cuts, bends, threads, assembles, and installs electrical conduit.
  • Splices wires by stripping insulation from terminal leads, twisting or soldering wires together, and applying tape or terminal caps.
  • Connects wiring to lighting fixtures and power equipment.
  • Installs control and distribution apparatus such as switches, relays, and circuit-breaker panels.
  • Connects power cables to equipment and installs grounding leads.
  • Tests continuity of circuit to ensure electrical compatibility and safety of components.
  • Observes functioning of installed equipment or system to detect need for adjustments, relocation, or replacement.
  • Repairs faulty equipment or systems.
