Medical Student Program Coordinator-OBGYN

Responsibilities

In this role, you will oversee the administration and dissemination of information for all activities related to *observerships,
undergraduate courses, Third-Year Core Clerkship, and Fourth-Year Elective Sub-Internships, in the Departments of Ob/Gyn, Urology, and *Head and Neck Surgery.

You will perform critical functions in a full range of activities including committee
support, ongoing coordination, reporting and compliance of each program’s LCME accreditation requirements, student orientations,
recruitment, evaluation, curriculum planning, and process improvement.

You will also assist in the day-to-day operations of the Education Office and serve as backup coordinator to the residency and fellowship programs.

Qualifications

Demonstrated ability to interact with faculty and administration in a professional and
confident manner.
Maintain cooperative working relationships with students, Course
Chairs, Site Directors, Site Coordinators, and staff in DGSOM’s Student Affairs and Curricular
Affairs units.
Demonstrated ability to work independently on multiple assignments, follow through on
project deadlines, prioritize tasks for support staff, and maintain the flexibility to work with
changing priorities and fluctuating workloads in a fast-paced environment.
In-depth working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Access, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe
Acrobat, Zoom, Box, Qualtrics and other DGSOM student management and evaluation
programs.

Ability to use programs for data manipulation and extraction, surveys, form
design, and database development.
Demonstrated in-depth understanding of database management, word processing, and
spreadsheet analysis.
Demonstrated excellent oral and written communication skills.

Demonstrated ability to
compose accurate, informative, and succinct correspondence.
Demonstrated ability to make group presentations to provide information and explain
policies and procedures to student and faculty stakeholders.
Demonstrated ability to maintain complete and accurate medical student electronic files.
Maintain confidentiality of student evaluations, NBME exam scores, and student logs, and
other tracked clinical experiences.
Demonstrated experience in a medical education program environment with a thorough
understanding of medical school training requirements.
Skill in coordinating student events, inviting and confirming attendance by all
stakeholders, securing location, arranging catering, parking, etc.
Skill in operating built-in audiovisual equipment and microphone systems in lecture halls
and conference rooms in the Center for Health Sciences, Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical
Center, and Geffen Hall.
Ability to travel and work a flexible schedule, including early mornings, evenings, and
weekends as needed.
Bachelor’s Degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
