Investments Associate

The Associate, Investments position is based at our corporate headquarters in Los Angeles and supports the Investments team through financial analysis, research, due diligence and asset monitoring functions.

The Associate, Investments role is an integral part of the CIM team.

You’ll work in a supportive, growth-oriented environment and gain valuable exposure to CIM’s wide range of asset types and investment platforms in addition to each element of the capital stack.

Project types may include the acquisition or development of assets spanning hotel, multifamily, condominiums, office, retail, entertainment and media, parking, and infrastructure, among others with a focus on core urban markets.

In this role, you’ll serve on the Investments deal team and be responsible for handling the majority of the financial modeling, market research, and underwriting of an investment.

You’ll also support the transaction due diligence and closing processes and help to monitor existing investments.

Top performers in this position are dedicated, self-motivated individuals with at least two years of experience working in finance, an interest in learning, and excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to thrive in a collaborative team environment and work effectively with deal team members often spread across multiple geographies, including but not limited to Los Angeles, Oakland, New York City, and Washington D.C.
  • Detail-oriented
  • Quantitative proficiency
  • Real estate and/or infrastructure investment knowledge is a plus but not a requirement
