FaZe Clan Inc: Senior Accountant

FaZe Clan is the world’s premiere gaming lifestyle company at the intersection of gaming, apparel, eSports, and music.

We are looking for a Senior Accountant to join the Finance team.

Reporting to our Accounting Manager, the Senior Accountant will be responsible for all day-to-day accounting activities, preparing and maintaining financial books and records, as well as working cross-functionally with all departments to support the business.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, thrives in a fast-paced start-up environment, and is highly motivated.

Bonus points for candidates who are passionate about gaming, especially esports and digital gaming content.ResponsibilitiesResponsible for monthly financial closing activities, procedures, journal entries, and account reconciliations (including but not limited to prepaids, fixed assets, accruals, and operating expenses)Review and reconcile bank and credit card accountsAssist with the A/P function by obtaining approvals, processing invoices from vendors, properly coding expenses, and maintaining A/P files and W-9’sResponsible for all A/P and A/R related to the company’s esports business including liaising with individual team managers, entering all esports-related bills into NetSuite, and billing customers and accruing for esports-related revenue including prize money, league participation, and digital goodsAssist with content and talent accounting including liaising with the Talent and Sales teams, helping determine adequate recognition of revenue, entering bills for sponsorship and brand payments owed to content creators, and assisting with inquiries from internal talent managersCross-train with other staff members to ensure all accounting activities are performed in the absence of other staffAssist in improving, developing, and documenting accounting policies, procedures, and internal controlsWork cross-functionally with other groups within the organization to improve communication and flow of informationSupport external audit engagements, including providing supporting documentationRequirements3-4+ years of accounting experience in private and/or public accountingBachelor’s Degree in Accounting or analogous major, with minor or concentration in AccountingStrong and demonstrated knowledge of GAAP, month-end close processes, operational accounting procedures, and financial reportingExperience with major ERP systems.

Working knowledge of NetSuite is highly desirableThe ability to manage multiple projects with minimal supervision or directionEffective written and verbal communication skillsAttention to detail and ability to prioritize and meet deadlinesStrong analytical skillsHighly proficiency in Excel including pivot tables, sumifs, vlookups, index matches, etcDesire and passion to work for a rapidly growing companyThorough knowledge of accounting principles and proceduresActive CPA license highly desired BONUS POINTS for previous experience at a high-growth start-up
