Yardbird Los Angeles: Event Sales Manager

The Event Sales Manager is responsible for planning and executing all private dining and large party events from start to finish.

They are responsible for building business for the restaurant through direct and indirect sales techniques, including promotion and marketing at the restaurant level.

This role will be required to develop and maintain business relationships inside and outside of the restaurant.

The position also requires partnering with the General Manager and Executive Chef to ensure each event is executed within our brand culture and to the guests’ expectations.Must Haves:Motivated self-starterDemonstrate leadership that is modeled after our brand cultureTeam player with a guest-centric attitudeAct as the face of the brand; Represent the restaurant at all offsite network and catering eventsPassion for hospitality and peopleConfidence in selling techniquesStrong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skillsTime management and organizational skillsStrong attention to detail and ability to multitaskRole & ResponsiblitiesSolicit, negotiate, and secure new business to meet or exceed sales goalsField incoming phone, web, and E-Mail inquiries within a 48-hour windowSend proposals, contracts, facilitate billing and food and beverage arrangementsResponsible for nurturing existing contacts and relationships to maximize revenue while also taking a proactive approach to finding new businessAbility to communicate effectively within all levels of the restaurantExcellent time management skills and ability to handle multiple events at one timeExceptional people skills, must be able to interact with a diverse array of clients and guestsAbility to build a steady client base and interact with the community to facility bookings, and be able to prospect accordinglyAbility to work independently as well as in team settingsHave an understanding of P& Ls and other restaurant financialsMust be available to work weekdays, weekends, holidays, and up to 12 hour work daysPossession of food certifications as required by local, state, and federal lawResponsible for all on and off-site catered functions from organization to execution, including delegation and responsibilitiesManage private dining events and ensure excellence in guest satisfaction through effective training and supervision of team members assigned to the eventHandle contracts, negotiations, deposits and final payment of events including account reconciliations as neededManage business on the books successfully and work pipeline of inquiries, prospects, tentative, and definite bookingsCreate floorplans, custom menus, and general event outlines to present to clientsCoordinate and complete Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) and update BEOs as neededCommunicate BEOs on a regular basis with FOH and HOH management teamsWork with management team to ensure proper scheduling of team members for eventsReview menu and wine/beverage selections with GM, Executive Chef, and Wine Sommelier/Bar Manager to ensure food and beverage are ordersFollow up with client during and after events including delivery of thank you notes as well as prompt follow up of negative client feedbackReview Event Sales Budget with Director, along with monthly sales objectives to achieve sales goalsAct as a liaison between the store management team & corporate marketing team, and relay all promotions/holidays/specials to book of contacts (concierge, event planners, etc)Assist with menu changes/printing when neededEducation/ExperienceBachelor’s Degree in Hospitality Management or related field preferred1+ years of restaurant sales experience or similar position in this market requiredProficiency with Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Office SuiteExperience negotiating pricing within booking guidelinesRestaurant/catering knowledge is a plusAdvanced knowledge of Microsoft products, Open Table software and company identified software including sales programs (i.E Tripleseat) a plusINDMANAGE
