WHY WE NEED YOU

The Vice President of Systems Requirements and Programs will lead the requirements development and programs for Virgin Hyperloop’s future product for a hyperloop system.

We are seeking a leader of 20+ years experience dealing with large teams (150+) of engineers.

This role will manage the systems, requirements, and programs on all Virgin Hyperloop engineering programs, ensuring they are fully documented and traceable in line with a program management plan, systems engineering management plan and requirements management plan. 

This function will be a downstream function to Product Management and key off the Product Requirements and Roadmap.

This function will be an adjunct function to Product Development & Engineering and play a key role in the development of the Product and Systems Specifications in addition to managing Programs.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Lead systems requirements development including capturing all stakeholder requirements, validating the requirements
    – reviewing requirements with engineering teams, subject matter experts, and test engineers, communicating the status of the requirements, and leading the validation and verification processes.
  • Create and provide detailed requirements, designs, and solutions that enable strategic initiatives of Virgin Hyperloop.
  • Lead the program and engineering change process including assessing system impacts and risk management.
  • Provide a strong program management capability that works in partnership with engineering teams in vehicle design, electromagnetics, control systems, power electronics, infrastructure, and test and development.
  • Coordinate between hardware, software, and civil infrastructure teams in alignment with Systems Architect and drive overall systems and requirements roadmap.
  • Identify and track key operational metrics that clearly demonstrate the year over year transformation by measuring delivered value.
  • Hold the engineering team to high quality, on time and on budget delivery of various initiatives in accordance with programs being executed.
  • Hire a strong mid-level management team that can drive the transformation and creative solutioning expected from this team for requirements and program management.
  • A history of building high performing teams working on multiple projects across different technology stacks and demonstrated ability to successfully navigate change and coach employees through transition are highly desired.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills who can navigate effortlessly between different stakeholders including the board, peers, technology partners and customers in a dynamic, rapidly changing environment.
  • Highly organized and structured with a meticulous attention to detail; can look at the big picture and connect to the details, iterate, recursive as needed.
  • High level of personal integrity and maturity and holds him/herself and others to the highest possible standards.
  • Displays an exceptional level of planning, communication, execution, and situational judgment.
  • A history of building high performing teams working on multiple projects across different technology stacks and demonstrated ability to successfully navigate change and coach employees through transition are highly desired.
