Yumi is looking for a VP of Operations to expand current manufacturing and 3PL infrastructure capabilities, and set strategic organizational direction for rapidly scaling operation in the DTC childhood nutrition category.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Develop, communicate and execute business strategies that achieve short-term and long-term growth and profit objectives
- Oversee all operations and business activities across multiple co-manufacturing and 3PL locations to produce results that are consistent with the overall strategy and mission
- Identify operating solutions to maximize product flow through automation and ingenuity
- Direct production facility management to ensure the facility is maximizing grosses, yields and plant efficiencies, providing guidance ensure timely decision making and problem resolution
- Ensure all parts of the organization are sharing information to optimize operational excellence
- Partner with Business and Product Development teams on new product development, existing product improvement and customer satisfaction
- Collaborate with the COO and Director of Operations to ensure all project, including capital improvement projects, are on track to generate expected results
- Manage co-packing arrangements and other strategic relationships
- Coordinate production and shipping with various co-packers when needed
- Understand and communicate customer requirements to the team to ensure products meet customer expectations
- Collaborate with the VP of Quality to manage the food safety function in the plant, identify concerns, solve problems and ensure operating practices comply with regulations
- Model open and direct communication with leaders and employees to facilitate collaboration within their departments, and to make team members approachable, candid and direct
- Develop and foster a culture of respect, empowerment and accountability throughout the organization
Qualifications:
- Must have worked in the food and Beverage category
- Experience delivering value to a Direct to Consumer customer base preferred
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Operations, Supply Chain, Manufacturing or equivalent experience
- 10+ years of leadership experience, preferably in the food and beverage organization
- Ability to understand the vision of the organization, translate into specific actionable plans and hold team members accountable to achieve desired results
- Ability to guide individuals and groups toward desired outcomes, setting high performance standards and delivering leading quality services to our customers
- Proven ability to build strong teams and interact at all levels
- Demonstrates a passion for learning and a willingness to build new skills. Recognizes opportunities to simplify processes and create efficiencies
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
- Solid understanding of USDA, FDA, OSHA and BRC laws
- Capable of making independent decisions and deal with ambiguity
- Skilled in preparing, analyzing data, and preparing management reports
