Together, we’re working at the pace of change on diagnostic tools that address the world’s biggest health challenges, driven by knowing that behind every test there is a patient waiting.Learn about the [Danaher Business System](https://www.danaher.com/how-we-work/danaher-business-system) which makes everything possible.The *Vice President, Manufacturing Operations* will be responsible for leading all Manufacturing, Maintenance Engineering, and Process Engineering for the IVD factory in Sunnyvale CA location. This includes all activities directly related to direct and indirect manufacturing operations present at the site including process excellence, process engineering, maintenance engineering, training and development, and continuous improvement activities.  In addition, this position will have responsibility for the ongoing success of product franchise including build plan compliance, on time-delivery, working capital management, cost factors improvement and internal & external continuous quality improvement programs.  ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:* Manages and coordinates the activities of project(s) with responsibility for results in terms of timelines, cost objectives and process implementation. Develops the production capacity plan in partnership with Global Supply Chain and establish procedures for maintaining high quality standards to ensure that products conform and exceed established customer and company quality standards.* Ensure compliance with all GMP rules, product documentation, specifications, SOPs, and FDA requirements as required.* Ensure that organization structure, resources, facilities and capital equipment are available to meet long-term production forecasts.* Provide leadership and strategy in the hiring, development, engagement and performance of the organization. * Responsible for creating/maintaining an environment where employees take individual responsibility for their success and alignment with our leadership anchors* Active champion of quality and productivity improvement efforts to deliver future organizational objectives.  Leads through Danaher Business Systems process excellence standard work.* Communicate the company vision and develop site culture through leading from the front with words and actions.* Supports process development, improvement and troubleshooting activities within the Manufacturing organization* Collaborates effectively with Global Operations supply chain, manufacturing engineering, technical operations, and shared services function.* Responsible for budget development and compliance within his/her department and resource planning to meet project objectivesMINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:* Requires a minimum 20+ years of Operations and/or Technical Operations or 18+ years with master’s degree* 6+ years’ experience leading people leaders at Director, Sr. Manager, and Manager levels.* Experience in Manufacturing Operations with direct and relevant experience leading technical operations teams focused on the product transfer from development and sustainment of product manufacturability and 24/7 high throughput manufacturing operations* Demonstrated ability to work in a high-growth, fast-paced global setting* Strong people leadership, a global mindset and strategic thinking are essential while ensuring execution on organizational objectives.  Comfortable with dealing with ambiguity* Requires highly-effective influencing, verbal and written communications skills, and demonstrated negotiating skills;* The demonstrated ability to work effectively across organizational lines requiredPREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:* Prior experience in life science /diagnostic/medical device and/or biopharmaceutical equipment and systemsCepheid, a Danaher company, offers a broad array of comprehensive, competitive benefit programs that add value to our lives.
