Vice President, EPC Operations

The responsibilities of the Vice President, EPC Operations, include the leadership, management, performance, and achievement of all EPC projects.

Responsible for EPC projects’ P&L, cost center management, and operational efficiencies.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Provide strategic leadership for a portfolio of projects and mitigate potential risk by being proactive in assessing and addressing potential issues.

Ensure that site-level safety practices and protocols are implemented.

Establish project goals and provide direction for projects from development through the construction phase.

Provide input to the to the pre-engineering and constructability reviews.

Improve procurement of long-lead equipment.

Assist the pre-construction development team with contracting strategy.

Participate in the prequalification of all contractors to ensure the best opportunity for contract execution.

Ensure that safety, quality, cost, environmental, landowner, and legal requirements are achieved or exceeded while accomplishing project objectives.

Create and ensure that financial processes are in place to maximize project profitability.

Perform technical feasibility analysis of permitting, design and constructability to support underwriting and financing.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide tactical and strategic leadership to a staff of project managers and construction managers to ensure that scopes, schedules, and budgets are organized for the project.

Establish an effective, flexible, responsive field construction team.

Ensure that team utilizes project controls, scheduling, and planning to optimize project performance.

Ensure team’s compliance with governmental regulations and business practices.

Ensure team’s compliance with company policies and procedures.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s degree in business, real estate and/or finance, project management, or related major in a technical area of study preferred.

Master’s degree preferred.

Minimum of 15 years’ work experience in infrastructure development-related fields including construction, finance, design, urban planning, government regulatory agencies, campus management, project management.

Relevant experience in renewable energy or renewable fuels, water and waste and communications infrastructure related fields.

Demonstrated knowledge of the market dynamics and real estate values in a given area/region.

Strong design and construction experience.

Ability to forecast cost at completions, schedule impacts, and possible mitigations.

Prior experience in a supervisory position (direct report responsibilities) required.
