Gannett Fleming is looking for a strategic leader in the Energy Industry to leverage our current capabilities in Renewables, Electric Mobility, and microgrids and create a strong entity with market leadership in the energy space.

As Vice President, Director of Energy, the successful candidate will be responsible for establishing the vision and strategy of the Energy Business Group, while leading the development, expansion, and implementation of the business plan.

Reporting directly to the CEO, the ideal candidate will have vision of the rapidly evolving Energy market.

The successful candidate will possess extensive energy market knowledge and a strong business acumen, capable of conceptualizing and leading a viable growth strategy.

This Director of Energy will have a strong presence, capable of collaborating with both technical influencers, key decision-makers, and C-level executives to expand Gannett Fleming’s presence across North America.

Primary Responsibilities

Lead the development and growth of a significant profitable Energy operation.

With an understanding of the disruptions occurring in the marketplace, recommend an energy vision and strategy for Gannett Fleming.

Capitalizing on market opportunities in alignment with internal capabilities and long-term vision for growth.

Acts as an advisor for all Energy and Renewables related business initiatives.

This includes recommending the structure of an internal organization to support successful growth.

In collaboration with Senior executives in the firm, develops, executes, and directs the business strategy for the Energy Business Group.

Creates and sustains an effective network of contacts through industry teaming partners and professional organizations.

Grows, builds, and nurtures relationships in the targeted business markets with clients.

Interfaces effectively with all Corporate Business Groups and Business lines within Gannett Fleming.

Function as Subject Matter Expert for the Energy and Renewables market and creating innovative solutions for our clients.

Stay current on industry trends and developments, visible and active participation within professional associations.

Responsible for key account leadership and senior executive relationship management.

Effectively developing and articulating value proposition of service offerings to clients.

Partner with relevant team members to create account plans, sales meetings, and winning proposals.

Work collaboratively with the company’s internal resources and partners to define the approach and strategy for achieving client requirements.

Effectively negotiate with multiple levels of executive management within prospective client organizations.

Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, or related field.

Twenty years of progressive experience with a proven track record as an operations leader and in business development and/or consultative sales for the Energy market.

Deep industry knowledge/experience with energy markets and opportunities that include electronic vehicles, microgrids and renewables and project and construction management.

Proven ability to manage teams focused on strategy work and drive go-to-market campaigns/key service offerings.

Strong business acumen, with analytical and problem-solving skills and ability to understand how business model decisions impact operating model design/execution across operations, risk governance and organizational design.

Ability to communicate information, whether technical or non-technical to internal stakeholders and customers, in a clear and concise manner.
