Traffic / Logistics Manager / Shipping Specialist

Role Overview:

We are looking for a skilled Logistics Manager to arrange transportation, both inbound and outbound through a complex network of suppliers and customers. This individual will be responsible for quoting, tracking, and communicating the status of the shipments. The goal is to ensure full visibility of all the inventory in transit. Having a deep understanding of logistics and processing strong communication skills are critical for success within this role.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare, manage and route global and domestic inbound and outbound shipments.
  • Prepare documentation such as commercial invoices & bill of lading.
  • Send request for quotes and negotiate with multiple forwarders and brokers.
  • Review all costs to ensure overall transportation costs are minimized.
  • Streamline & consolidate communication between internal and external parties.
  • Provide reporting and visibility on all shipments in-transit, along with SKU level details.
  • Assist in providing documentation to support Accounts Payable.
  • Ensure deadlines are met by managing activities for order fulfillment and the transportation cycle.
  • Responding to customer questions and inquiries and referring clients to appropriate channels.
  • Preparing reports for Senior Management, when appropriate.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management or related field
  • 1- 2+ years proven experience in Logistics or Customer Service role
  • Must have an eye for detail, superb organizational skills and coordination abilities
  • Must have excellent communication skills and ability to problem solve strategically
  • Must have a willingness to learn and have a positive team player attitude
