Company Description Kala is a commercial-stage biopharmaceutical company focused on the discovery, development, and commercialization of innovative therapies for diseases of the eye.

Kala has applied its AMPPLIFY® mucus-penetrating particle (MPP) Drug Delivery Technology to two ocular therapies, EYSUVIS® (loteprednol etabonate ophthalmic suspension) 0.25% for the short-term (up to two weeks) treatment of signs and symptoms of dry eye disease and INVELTYS® (loteprednol etabonate ophthalmic suspension) 1% for the treatment of post-operative inflammation and pain following ocular surgery.

The Company also has a pipeline of pre-clinical development programs targeted to address unmet medical needs, including both front and back of the eye diseases.

Job Description The Territory Sales Manager (TSM) is a specialty sales representative responsible for delivering sales results for Kala’s approved ophthalmic products.

This is done through establishing partnerships with targeted ophthalmologists, optometrists, and key office staff.

TSMs utilize approved tools and resources for product promotion and demonstrates strong selling skills, clinical acumen and account management expertise.

Accomplishment of goals must comply with Kala Pharmaceuticals policies and procedures.

This position reports to a Regional Sales Leader (RSL).

Essential Duties/Responsibilities Accountable to deliver sales results which meet or exceed established goals for prescription volume and market share Create and implement strategically sound business plans and tactical approaches aligned with approved marketing strategies Manage daily sales responsibilities including: Promote products via face-to-face and virtual interactions with targeted customers, engaging them in interactive, in-depth product discussions Execute the call plan while appropriately targeting approved resources Proactively communicate with your RSL and peer TSMs to share successes and gather insight Effectively communicate with customers with the ability to gain insight and demonstrate persuasive selling skills aligned to customers’ needs Establish trust, credibility and a positive relationship with both internal and external customers Effectively utilize approved resources and manage budget Models only the highest level of professional behavior in conjunction with Kala’s Code of Compliance and Ethics Knowledge of competitive landscape for use in territory business planning and targeting Collaborate with the market access team to optimize payer access opportunities Qualifications Education and Experience Required Bachelor’s Degree (BA or BS) from a four-year accredited college or university 3-5 years of pharmaceutical sales experience 1 year of specialty pharmaceutical sales experience 2 years of experience in ophthalmology sales strongly preferred Preferred Knowledge, Skills And Abilities Recent launch experience is highly preferred Results-oriented professional who demonstrates strong problem-solving skills, adaptability and resiliency in account-based selling Demonstrated teamwork with high emotional intelligence, openness to coaching and ability to collaborate with peers Must be self-motivated and disciplined Demonstrated technical aptitude and working proficiency in using iPad and working proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook In depth knowledge and understanding of PhRMA Guidelines Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills Additional Information Kala Pharmaceuticals is an Equal Opportunity Employer that offers a competitive and comprehensive employee benefits package.
