The System Director of Infection Prevention serves the purpose of leading and directing response efforts and initiatives across the organization to eliminate patient harm due to healthcare acquired infections.
Works collaboratively with the System VP of Infection Prevention in all operational efforts related to Infection Prevention across the organization as well as various leaders in the system office such as those in nursing, care management, patient safety and regulatory readiness.
Supervision of Manager and Staff level positions to include recruitment, performance management, engagement and growth and development Essential Key Job Responsibilities Command and provide direction to the Infection Prevention council in order to achieve consensus on multiple work streams that impact healthcare delivery across the organization Provide subject matter expertise in perioperative services, sterile processing, environment of care, environment services, food and nutrition, and dialysis standards to lead and develop tools/protocols that improve patient outcomes in collaboration with various stakeholders Provide subject matter expertise in established guidelines by AAMI, AORN, CDC, IDSA, and APIC to support acute care and non-acute care compliance with Hospital Accreditation Standards, State and CMS regulations, and other external audits within Infection Prevention standards Independently lead the development and deployment of rapid performance improvement initiatives from inception to execution in order to achieve Board of Stewardship Trustees fiscal year goals related to the reduction of hospital acquired infections Utilize expert knowledge in clinical and human behavior principles to identify opportunities and optimize the electronic health record workflow to achieve the consistent application of evidence based practice and reduce healthcare associated infections Employ mastery in developing policies, protocols, and communication to varying stakeholders that involve the prevention of healthcare acquired infections and related areas of operations.

Qualifications Minimum Qualifications Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in healthcare related field required (Microbiology, Biology, Nursing, Public Health, or other related field).
Masters degree strongly preferred.
Minimum of seven (7) years clinical experience in nursing, microbiology, biology, Public Health, or other related field.
Must have a minimum of four (4) years of experience as an Infection Preventionist in an acute care facility.
Minimum of 5 years leadership experience.
Must demonstrate adeptness in supporting the development of programs focused on achieving positive outcomes within infection prevention.
Exceptional knowledge with CMS and TJC regulatory standards.
Experience in an integrated health system is preferred.
Experience in a matrix management environment involving integration of multiple entities is strongly desired.
