The Strategy Director is a highly visible Strategic Consultant role on the Value Based Solutions Team with responsibility for interfacing directly with Senior P&L Leadership, Senior Provider Network Leadership, and other key shared service partners. This high-performing individual contributor will be responsible for shaping and influencing market-based strategy and action plans designed to ensure Anthem meets key business performance goals including growth, value based penetration, affordability and quality. The Director will work closely with Provider Account Managers to ensure specific provider action plans support the delivery of overall market goals. Our ideal candidate will be a will be a self-starter who brings a mix of intellectual curiosity, aptitude for data-driven decision making, experience influencing without direct authority, and a consultative orientation.

[We will fill 3 of these positions-each aligned to one the following markets- Central US, Western US, and Eastern US. Candidates can work remotely anywhere in the US]

Primary duties may include, but are not limited to: Understands all aspects of the business and partners with executive leadership to define strategy and successful criteria for the future delivery system strategy. Translates strategy into defined tactics programs/projects priorities and timelines and ensures alignment and attainment of enterprises strategic plans to turn strategy into reality. Documents strategic priorities such as external environment and reports on markets insights research. Builds and leverages relationships to provide innovative solutions to complex business problems. Proposes opportunities to improve results based on continuous needs assessment. Responsible for the development implementation and monitoring of line of business planning and project activities. 

Qualifications

BA/BS degree in a related field; 10 years of leadership experience in healthcare business and analysis with experience in business planning/internal consulting/strategy consulting including a 3 to 5 year strategic plan with corresponding tactical plans; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background. Ability to travel will be required (25%) .

Highly preferred experience:

-Experience as a strategy consultant with structure analysis, problem solving, and market planning expertise

-Experience in shaping the process for planning and then scaling that process regionally through market template development and training others.

-Experience in Quality Focused, Value Based Solutions MCO programs or value based payment models.

-Expertise in 1 of the following lines of business – Commercial, Medicare, Medicaid.
