The Store Manager oversees all sales and daily operations of the store, while managing a team of full time and part time hourly associates.
The Store Manager is responsible for the overall financial performance of the store, including achieving planned sales, margin, and cost recovery goals.
Additionally, the store manager is accountable for customer satisfaction, associate morale, and inventory management.Responsibilities & Duties: Driving Sales and Store Performance:Leads the store to ensure achievement of business goals in revenue, expense reduction, cost recovery, customer satisfaction, and inventory shrinkageAccountable for maximizing Protection Agreements, fabric protection, leasing, credit, and other miscellaneous income opportunities within storeMeets sales goals by motivating, mentoring, and providing feedback to associatesMeets and maintains their personal sales targetManages the overall customer experience, including online customer reviewsLeads by example with the selling processes; ensures performance standards and operational processes are achievedPartners with Regional Sales Manager to address business opportunitiesLeads the delivery operation to ensure achievement of business goals in margin and customer experienceManagerial:Hires and maintains an active and productive sales force, warehouse team, and delivery team; Selects, coaches, and develops a diverse high-performance teamActs as a role model within the unit for abiding by and holding others accountable for the Code of Conduct and overall business practices Manages all in-store Human Resources processes including staffing, training, and reporting performance/behavioral issues; assists in action plans to improve performance in a timely mannerAdministrative:Creates scheduling policies that keep the sales floor and warehouse properly staffedEnsures store presentation standards are maintained at company expected levelProvides a safe working environment for both associates and customers by adhering to company shrink and safety standardsEnsures that the store operates in full compliance with applicable laws, regulations,and company ethic policiesCompletes paperwork related to entering trucks and confirming pickup/delivery datesEnsure data integrity of physical and systemic receiving process and reverse flow processMaintains inventory accuracy at all times and with inventory scans; manages online order fulfillment processManages opening and closing procedures; including taking cash deposits to bankManages all other store operations, pricing, and inventory management processesPerforms other duties as assignedQualifications: Educational: High School Diploma or Equivalent required, Bachelor’s Degree preferredExperience: 3-4 Years of Related Experience or previous experience as a Sales Associate preferredAbility to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekendsMust be able to lift at least 50 lbs.Preferred Skills: Strong leadership, coaching, and associate development skillsExcellent customer service and communication skillsPersuasion, negotiation, and closing skillsOverall computer literacyStrong drive for resultsAbility to manage multiple priorities simultaneouslyKnowledge of retail business and store operationsAmerican Freight is an equal opportunity employer.
