Working closely with our sales leads, the West Region Team Lead will head a team of Proposal Managers and coordinate with functional experts in operations, pricing, marketing, and legal in the preparation of complex proposals and presentations, supporting the new business pursuit process from strategy and content development through review and production.

Acting as a player/coach, this high-visibility position calls for a confident and creative communications professional with excellent strategic-thinking, writing, project management, analytical and collaboration skills.

The preferred candidate is self-directed and will have experience in a deadline driven environment.

Things move fast – so you must be a quick learner, a team player, organized and detail oriented.

Responsibilities

Lead a Team of direct report Proposal Managers to provide consistent and high quality support to assigned sales leads

Work closely with Sales Leads to understand current and anticipated support needs

Assign incoming pursuit s and projects , considering team capacity, strengths and specializations to balance workloads and delivery exceptional support

Coach, develop and direct Proposal Managers to maintain an environment of continuous improvement

Ensure understanding and adherence to process in a fast-paced environment

Collaborate with Sales and Solution Team leadership to drive process enhancements and revenue growth

Proposal and Presentation Development: Responsible for proposal development
– ensuring security and integrity of all proposal documentation, coordinating internal flow and review of all proposal inputs, schedules, activities with cross functional business areas, and directing submission of the final proposal.

Oversee the entire proposal process, making sure that every member of the proposal team, including sales, subject matter experts, pricing, design, marketing, knows what is expected of him/her and when tasks are due.

Develop a strong understanding of each service line, platform, and value proposition. 

Write the executive summary and key themes for major pursuits. 

Create the proposal schedule and keeps track of proposal progress.

Interpret and analyze RFP to write proposals that support client solutions.

Help develop and communicate win themes, strategies and design approaches.

Work with sales and operational subject matter experts as contributors and/or reviewers.

Write, edit, and format all proposal deliverables.

Identify need for graphical content and develop appropriate graphics to support messaging and theme.

Remain aligned with opportunities through client decision.

Support the preparation of all deliverables related to the opportunity ( e.g.,Yellow Pads, BAFO, etc.).

Quality Control & Best Practices : Leverage past professional experience to identify and execute process improvements and best practices related to business development and proposal management.

Participate in developing and delivering training for the organization.

Champion efforts to ensure all deliverables look professional and promote the firm’s brand.

Qualifications

At least eight years of related business development marketing communications experience, with five of those working directly in B2B proposal management. 

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, effective presentation skills, and the ability to interface with senior management, functional departments, and customers.

High degree of energy, assertiveness and creativity.

Ability to translate broad concepts and ideas into clear and logical communications

Create customized, branded graphics for business development presentations 

Translate complex ideas into clear and effective graphics

Flexible and a proactive individual able to work under their own initiative.

Ability to produce multiple deliverables quickly, while maintaining quality and accuracy.

Commitment to collaboration and teamwork.

Ability to prioritize work under pressure.

Unyielding attention to detail.

Demonstrated ability to assimilate, coordinate, and respond to RFIs, RFPs.

Skilled at building an environment of teamwork

Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, Journalism, Marketing or Business or other

High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (PowerPoint, Word, Excel)
