Opportunity Overview

TuSimple’s Senior Manager, Product Quality Engineering forms the interface between the customer and engineering for all quality related subjects and manages the quality landscape of Risks, Issues and Problems for both internal and externally facing
program and projects.

In this role, you will also control oversight and steer activities at program level related to APQP, PPAP & Problem solving.

You will ensure achievement of all quality related milestones and deliverables to meet program / project
objectives.

Role Responsibilities
Building the product quality team, managing activities, time & data
Assisting in the development and continual improvement of TuSimple’s Quality Management system to meet program and project goals
Assessing program / project risks and proactively drive mitigation plans
Partnering with Engineering to define product acceptance plans based on Product Requirement Documents (PRD’s) and Product Quality Plans (APQP) for flow down to internal build locations and partners organizations
Providing Quality team’s risk assessment as the advocate for the customer experience in programs and projects at a across functional team level
Facilitating communication and actions on quality by conducting periodic quality reviews and by aligning and engaging with cross-functional teams
Analyzing field feedback reports, data and information on product performance to provide insights and direction to development teams that help key product and process decision making
Forms the independent unbiased communication channel and link from field quality and customer experience to engineering, development and problem resolution owners
Formulates actions plans to address top risk, issues and problems that are quantifiable and measurable
Defining, monitoring and owning product Quality KPIs and metrics
Supports Change Control Board: Impact analysis and approvals
Reviews engineering release quality: Compatibility and completeness

Experience & Skills Required
Bachelor’s Degree or above in Engineering, Business, or a related field.
5-10 years relevant industry experience
Six Sigma black belt qualifications
Project management and team leadership skills
Partner relationship management
NPD / NPI Process frameworks: Automotive/Aerospace
Experience managing product and customer experience quality at a cross functional level
Experience developing, improving and implementing processes in complex start up environments
Strong analytical skills; Comfortable working with large amounts of data
Problem Solving: (8D) / SCAR/ RTV processes
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Able to manage multiple responsibilities.
Strong problem-solving, organizational, and analytical skills.
Exceptional communication skills
