SoCalGas: Commercial Development Manager- Hydrogen

Primary PurposeThe position is responsible for the development of market strategic analysis, business and investment plans, project development, programs and services to develop a variety of hydrogen growth initiatives.

The position is responsible to develop and manage large complex commercial development projects and initiatives in the clean fuels space.Provide subject matter expertise on project development, policy outreach, customer education and other stakeholderRepresent the company in negotiations and development of project and financial documentation and with internal and external stakeholders.Coordinate engineering, technical, and financial analysis for programs and services, and make strategic recommendations to improve progressProvide recommendations to regulatory and legislative policies that impact SoCalGas’ market position.Provide direction to a team of project manager and advisor direct reportsDuties and ResponsibilitiesCollaborate with Legal, Regulatory, Policy and other groups to advise on, monitor and drive favorable policies, programs and legislation to enable and accelerate Company growth initiatives related to large commercial development projects and initiatives in the clean fuels space.

Represent the Company externally with customers, regulators, legislators and other high-level policymakers, and other stakeholders.Drive technical, policy, and business analyses to assess, envision, and design Company growth initiatives and to manage large strategic commercial development initiatives.

Coordinate with policy, technical and market facing groups to ensure viable program structure and cogent strategy.

Develop executive and board-level business plans, presentations, and proposals.

Keep executive leadership abreast of projects status and progress.

Ensure initiative success and remove roadblocks that present risks for the implementations.

Projects and initiatives managed are large low carbon infrastructure projects and commercial development projects with total cost from $100 Million to over $500 Million.Performs other duties as assigned (no more than 5% of duties).Projects and initiatives managed are large low carbon infrastructure projects and commercial development projects with total cost from $100 Million to over $500 Million.EducationBachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Economics, Business, Marketing or related field (Required)Master’s Degree MBA or other advanced degree (Preferred)Experience10 years experience managing and delivering products and/or services or comparable experience (Required)Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesDeep experience and understanding of utility business model, including regulatory process, and relatedUnderstanding of the clean fuels markets including the mobility sector.Demonstrated skills in thinking strategically and tactically.Must be able to assess the potential financial impact of a project to the Company.Must possess the ability to review complex problems, propose innovative solutions and dynamics of business/project development.Strong negotiation skills.Strong communication and presentation skills.Licenses and CertificationsProject Management Certification (Preferred)Equal Opportunity Employer Minorities/Women/Protected Veterans/Disabled
