Company Overview

The SVP of Operations is responsible for leading and optimizing Sarnova’s supply chain operations to include kitting production, distribution center operations, logistics, and transportation functions supporting the industry’s leading specialty medical device, acute care, and EMS businesses. In addition, this role will act as the Process/Operational Excellence leader for supply chain initiatives as well as lead our supply chain project management effort. This position directly manages the VP of Distribution, Kitting General Manager, and Process Excellence/Industrial Engineer, with indirect supervision of their teams across the country. The SVP of Operations will be an integral part of the Senior Leadership Team and will have ultimate responsibility for achieving distribution service & fulfillment levels, maximizing supply chain profitability and efficiency, and delivering world-class customer service to internal and external business partners. 

The preferred work location will be at our Sarnova Corporate office in Dublin, Ohio. Relocation assistance will be provided. We will also consider remote work locations (work from home).

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Drive best-in-class supply chain practices by developing and communicating Sarnova’s operations strategy and tactics which result in high customer satisfaction levels.
  • Provide guidance and leadership in a matrix environment in accordance with the Sarnova culture.
  • Continually improve Sarnova’s supply chain through SKU rationalization, shipping/receiving optimization, inventory accuracy & reconciliation, and warehousing automation initiatives.
  • Ensure the company’s medical supply kitting operation is optimized and expanded as per the needs of the business.
  • Select, develop, motivate and lead staff to ensure attainment of Sarnova’s corporate objectives.
  • Ensure all legal and regulatory and compliance requirements are met within scope of influence.
  • Monitor, assess, and manage performance metrics relative to fill rate, inventory turns, back orders, excess inventory levels, service levels, freight costs, order accuracy, etc.
  • Adhere to budgeting and financial statements, including staffing, labor, supply, and capital expense targets.
  • Collaborate with Sales & Marketing on identifying alternative sourcing solutions such as private label and global sourcing.
  • Collaborate with Sales & Marketing to define and manage the impact of category management and product life cycle on Purchasing and Distribution networks.
  • Ensure continuous process improvement and quality/regulatory assurance goals are met.
  • Achieve economies of scale in negotiating rates with LTL and small parcel freight carriers.
  • Other duties as identified and assigned.

Skills/Experience Required:

  • Demonstrated leadership skills with a proven ability to build trust, gain support, and influence other leaders and staff to implement and manage change.
  • Demonstrated competency in coaching for business results, empowerment of others, relationship building, and problem solving.
  • Results-oriented, self-motivated individual who can work in a team environment, as well as make independent decisions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to interface with and influence all levels of employees.
  • High ethical standards and a commitment to creating a world-class work environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field and/or equivalent work experience.
  • At least ten years of experience in distribution and supply chain management with increasingly responsible leadership roles.
  • Experience within the medical device, medical supply, or pharmaceutical industry is a plus.
  • Manufacturing, quality assurance, Six Sigma or similar experience is a plus.
  • Familiarity with regulatory affairs and distribution licensing requirements.
  • Proven proficiency with planning, forecasting, and ERP utilization.
  • Alternative and global sourcing experience.
