Our project managers work on behalf of our public sector clients to project management solution providers, implementers, and agency staff. The ERP Project Manager will have day-to-day responsibilities to analyze requirements, designs, and implementation project documentation, plans, and schedules. In addition to overseeing ERP implementation projects assisting to manage internal resources as well as vendor implementation teams. The ERP Project Manager is responsible for ensuring that the solution that is implemented satisfies the business requirements, meets contracted requirements, and delivers the value required by the client. The Project Manager monitors the Scope of Work, Project plan, schedule, and budget and is responsible for ensuring that deliverables and milestones are met and that the project is completed on time, within budget, and to the customerrsquos satisfaction. The Project Manager plays a key role throughout the project. Responsibilities The ERP Project Managerrsquos responsibility includes oversight and reporting for the following areas Project Integration Management ndash The processes required to ensure that the various elements of the project are properly coordinated ndash consisting of project charter development, preliminary scope statement development, project management plan development, project management plan execution, and integrated change control Project Scope Management ndash The processes required to ensure that the project includes all the work required, and only the work required, to complete the project successfully ndash consisting of scope planning, scope definition, creating the work breakdown structure (WBS), scope verification, and scope control Project Time Management ndash The processes required to ensure timely completion of the project ndash consisting of activity definition, activity sequencing, activity resource estimating, activity duration estimating, schedule development, and schedule control Project Cost Management ndash The processes required to ensure that the project is completed within the approved budget ndash consisting of cost estimating, cost budgeting, and cost control Project Quality Management ndash The processes required to ensure that the project will satisfy the needs for which it was undertaken ndash consisting of quality planning, quality assurance, and quality control Project Human Resource Management ndash The processes required to make the most effective use of the people involved with the project ndash consisting of human resource planning and acquiring developing managing the project team Project Communications Management ndash The processes required to ensure timely and appropriate generation, collection, dissemination, storage, and ultimate disposition of project information ndash consisting of communications planning, information distribution, performance reporting, and managing stakeholders Project Risk Management ndash The processes concerned with identifying, analyzing, and responding to project risk ndash consisting of risk management planning, risk identification, quantitative risk analysis, qualitative risk analysis, risk response planning, and risk monitoring and control Organizational change management (OCM) ndash The processes of adhering to change management principles to help mitigate the challenges that the organization will face when implementing the system Executive Buy-inMake sure that you have buy-in from leadership, if you donrsquot have buy-in from everyone in leadership your ERP project will not be successful Additional considerationsLanguage, education, and demographic differences have a significant impact on how employees perceive and understand the goals, objectives, risks, and benefits of an ERP project Employee engagementOrganizational readiness is critical with ERP projects to ensure all issues and opportunities are mitigated across the enterprise. Engaging and involving employees leads to quantifiable benefits realization in the long run CommunicationsCommunication within an ERP project is absolutely vital but incredibly difficult. Project and communications teams must have a plan for how they will provide updates and coach managers on how to best deliver the messages to their teams. Again, language, culture, and level of education among end-users have a significant influence on messaging Training Change management plans must be devised to address workforce transition to the new ERP system and who will be super-users and trainers. Failing to fully develop a training strategy can have serious implications on the success of an ERP implementation Work closely with solution architects, technical teams (both the public agency and vendor), functional analysts to oversee project scope and track metrics on schedule, budget, and with high-quality deliverables Communicate effectively with clients and vendors regarding the ERP project, technology, and functionality Monitor required controls and propose improvements as required, including quality plans, issues and action logs, risk management plans, and change control plans, for all aspects of the assignment Responsible to monitor design and implementation concerning Statement of Work, purchase orders, price quotes, and other contractual materials as part of scheduling and deploying resources Ensure business and assignment risks are identified, monitored, and managed to achieve minimal disruption to the project delivery and success Qualifications 10+ years of successful experience with ERP implementation projects must have at least one implementation of Tyler MUNIS Minimum of 5 years of ERP Project Management experience with public agencies Knowledge of public sector ERP solutions, Tools, Architecture, IT functions, Systems Integratorsrsquo Dynamics Public Sector experience is mandatory, including general knowledge of Fund Accounting Principles and Government Accounting Standards Board (GASB) PMP Certification (Optional) Experience with project planning, scheduling, tracking, and reporting for projects of more than 500,000 Possess skills and personal presence to successfully represent at the highest level- externally and internally, formally and informally, inspiring confidence and respect for both the functions represented and as an individual and you can build long-term relationships with colleagues and clients Strong experience in the Public Sector ERP Methodology as well as excellent presentation skills Experience with change management, project risk mitigation, and issue management Ability to motivate and manage project teams as well as plan, execute and monitor delivery for self and others Solid and detailed understanding of ERP functionality, technology, and integrations Exceptional communication skills Other Duties Please note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties, or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
