Come be part of the Marketplace & ISV Journey team, a new team within GDC which is focused on guiding Technology Partners, often referred to as Independent Software Vendors (ISVs) from discovery and building on our cloud, publication on our marketplace, to ongoing growth and success.
The Marketplace & ISV Journey team will define and drive execution of our ISV and Marketplace business strategy.
We will unify cross-Microsoft efforts to create opportunity and growth for breadth ISVs and a rich marketplace experience for customers using exceptional digital marketing, merchandising and commerce capabilities that make it easy to find, try and buy ISV applications.
This role will lead product marketing for our ISV journey and commercial marketplace to include crafting go-to-market strategies to increase awareness and usage among key audiences, driving differentiated positioning and messaging for new features and launches, as well defining ongoing narrative and value proposition.
Responsibilities
Developing and defining a comprehensive marketing strategy for ISVs that establishes Microsoft as the primary technology provider for ISVs to build their apps on our cloud platform, publish on our commercial marketplace and ultimately grow their business.
You will need to:
- Understand value propositions by cloud solution area and their unique roles in our ecosystem
- Devise a rationalization model for prioritizing the most valuable customer opportunities, with a transparent process to efficiently serve business group needs
- Serve as the primary marketing liaison across our business groups to drive coordinated Microsoft Cloud messaging
Driving awareness and adoption of commercial marketplace through coordinated Go-To-Market strategies, such as:
- Connect into GDC scale motions to execute campaigns and drive adoption with publisher and customer audiences
- Surface compelling, consistent copy & content across the company’s digital destinations and social properties
Leading product evangelism and product storytelling
- Build a compelling messaging and positioning framework for our commercial marketplace
- Create compelling marketplace reasons to believe, proof points and success stories
- Coordinate influencer marketing with proactive and reactive press and analyst engagement
Own marketing and communications for launches, events and other product moments
- Work deeply with engineering to manage an editorial calendar of launches and product moments
- Lead naming, branding and messaging of new features
- Orchestrate event presence across key messages, speakers, sessions and workshops
- Land messages and content across mediums (email, websites, community, newsletters and other partner & field communications, social properties etc.)
Qualifications
- Expertise in ISVs and/or SaaS/commercial marketplaces (Microsoft’s and/or competitors)
- Excel at defining a narrative and storytelling that resonates with target audiences
- Deeply customer/partner-centric with an understanding of target audiences (various partner types, small to large enterprises)
- A history of driving change and innovation, with the ability to not only identify areas of improvement but have a proven track record of creating executional plans that can scale globally to drive business impact
- A strong ability to build relationships, influence, and forge alignment across functions and solution areas
- Adept at communicating across diverse audiences (engineering, marketing, and partner executives)
- Interested in contributing to a diverse and inclusive team
- Ability to drive for results and find a path forward amid competing priorities
- Manage ambiguity well, as well as frame, analyze and solve complex problems
- 7+ years’ experience in product marketing or related fields
- 5+ years working in cloud computing or related technologies
- BS/BA degree, MBA preferred
