The Opportunity: Reporting to the Controller, the Senior Manager
– SEC Reporting will be integral to the financial and SEC reporting process, a key member for the SOX implementation and on-going SOX compliance, as well as supporting in reviewing assigned areas in the monthly and quarterly accounting close.
The ideal candidate will have experience in: Prepare the Company’s SEC reporting on Forms 10-Q, 10-K, 8-K, Proxy and other ad hoc filings, including preparation of financial statements, footnotes, auditable support and related XBRL requirements.
Lead research and preparation of technical accounting treatment position papers.
Analyze and document non-recurring transactions by proactively identifying accounting implications, applying appropriate accounting rules and exercising judgement in subjective areas.
Monitor new accounting pronouncements and accounting policy developments and lead implementation efforts, including required disclosures and education of senior management.
Lead SOX 404 implementation efforts with our consultants, including design & implementation, organizational training, and ongoing compliance.
Review journal entries as part of month-end and quarter-end closes and review reconciliations for assigned areas.
Liaise with external auditors, including preparation of PBC items.
Participation in process improvements, financial system enhancements and special projects as needed.
Required Skills, Experience and Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting or Business.
CPA required.
6 years of relevant experience in an accounting or auditing role, pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry experience preferred.
Direct experience and proficiency with SEC reporting and XBRL.
Strong technical accounting background and understanding of U.S.
GAAP, SOX and SEC reporting.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Highly detail oriented, organized, self-motivated and committed to a high level of accuracy.
Excellent written and verbal communications skills with the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
Big 4 public accounting firm preferred.
Proficient in Microsoft Office, advanced Excel skills.
Strong project management skills with the ability to anticipate events, prioritize assignments, deal with interruptions, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced and growth-oriented environment.
