The Boeing Product Security team is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Senior Manager, Platform Cyber to lead the research and development efforts. This position is available in any one of the following locations:  Arlington, VA, Hazelwood, MO, Tukwila, WA or Huntington Beach, CA.

The successful candidate will manage a portfolio of internally and externally funded cybersecurity research projects, lead a distributed team of product security engineers and advanced technologists, and work closely with Boeing business units and programs to identify technical needs and requirements. In addition, this role will collaborate with government labs to shape future funded cybersecurity research programs and serve as a capture team leader.

The ideal candidate should possess an engineering background or experience in system engineering, cybersecurity, cyberspace operations, software development, hardware prototyping, or model-based engineering. The individual will also be responsible for managing a laboratory and working closely within Enterprise product security-related research initiatives.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Manage project execution (cost/schedule/performance) of a portfolio of internally and externally funded cybersecurity research projects

  • Lead and manage a geographically distributed team of product security engineers and advanced technologists

  • Work closely with business units and programs to identify technical needs and requirements for product security

  • Collaborate with government labs to shape future funded cybersecurity research programs

  • Serve as a capture team leader and/or program manager for multiple contracted research efforts

  • Manage a laboratory and provide guidance to lab staff

  • Work closely with product security-related research initiatives to drive innovation and improvements in Boeing products

  • Assist in the development of technology roadmaps and strategy in support of their technology and higher-level strategy and direction

  • Serve as alternate for Boeing Research and Technology Product Security Functional responsibilities in design practices, incident response and work force strategy

  • Provide Managerial oversite of classified programs related to cyber security

This position is hybrid. This means that the selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options.  This is at the hiring team’s discretion and could potentially change in the future. On-site work will be at a minimum of 3-4 days per week.

This position requires an active U.S. Top Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active)

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher

  • Experience in product security, cybersecurity research, or a related field

  • Experience managing direct reports

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Experience in software development, hardware prototyping, or model-based engineering

  • Experience multitasking and managing multiple projects simultaneously

  • Experience working independently and within a team environment

  • Strong technical writing and communication skills

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Experience as Capture Team Lead or Proposal Lead for highly technical proposals

  • Experience with Department of Defense Cyber Operations to include planning, execution and assessment

  • Experience with systems and security architecture of air or space platforms and systems

Summary pay range: $174,250 – $288,650
