Northrop Grumman Defense Systems in Northridge, CA is currently seeking a Sr.

Manager (M3) of General Manufacturing.

In this role, the selected candidate will (but not be limited to):

• Identify and coordinate the operations area necessary to meet government contract requirements for the plant and its cost objectives.

• Maintain staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees; developing personal growth opportunities.

• Maintain work flow by monitoring steps of the process; setting processing variables; observing control points and equipment; monitoring personnel and resources; studying methods; implementing cost reductions; developing reporting procedures and systems; facilitating corrections to malfunctions within process control points; initiating and fostering a spirit of cooperation within and between departments.

• Complete production plans by scheduling and assigning personnel; accomplishing work results; establishing priorities; monitoring progress; revising schedules; resolving problems and reporting results.

• Maintain and monitors SOP’s for shop floor safety and control.

• Maintain quality standards by establishing and enforcing organization quality objectives.

• Maintain safe and clean work environment by educating and directing personnel on the use of all control points, equipment, and resources; maintaining compliance with established policies and procedures.

• Resolve personnel problems by analyzing data; investigating issues; identifying solutions; recommending action.

• Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

• Plan and control monthly department overhead expenses.

• Actively contribute to future budgetary forecasting and capital expenditure projects.

• Develop, maintain and execute master production schedule.
Qualifications:
Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management, Engineering or equivalent field.

• 5+ years of proven experience in a manufacturing management role.

• 10+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment.

• Proven, effective leadership and organizational skills.

• Must have extremely effective written and oral communication skills to all levels of employees within the organization.

• Must possess a strong working knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite of tools.

(Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).

• Must be able to obtain and maintain a DOD Secret Security Clearance or higher within a timeframe set forth by management.

• Working knowledge of quality systems, finance, capital planning, and project cost tracking and forecasting, economic justification analysis, statistical process control, and manufacturing management systems.

• Knowledge of MRP/ERP systems.
Preferred Qualifications:

• Master’s Degree in Business Management, Engineering or equivalent field.

• 10+ years of proven experience in a manufacturing assembly environment.

• Active DOD Secret Clearance

• APICS Certified.
