SENIOR MANAGER ENTERPRISE AGILE TRANSFORMATION

WHAT IS THE OPPORTUNITY?

The Senior Manager Agile Transformation has ultimate accountability for orchestrating & coaching the agile program processes and their execution, escalating/resolving impediments, managing risk, and directing portfolio-level continuous improvement across the Portfolio/Vertical. This role is a critical member of the Lean Portfolio Management (LPM) team. The Agile Transformation Lead is responsible for overall Agile Strategy and for ensuring that the Portfolio Roadmap and priorities are communicated, stakeholder expectations are effectively managed, all LPM ceremonies & processes are adhered to and holds the overall accountability for all the processes and people involved in the product deliveries within the Portfolio.The Senior Manager Agile Transformation enables an effective management team that allows the program to grow to scale. Success of this role is measured in terms on how well ceremonies/processes are being planned and executed across the Portfolio (LPM), budget is aligned to the investment decisions of the Portfolio Owner and the success and predictability of the teams delivering on their PI objectives and commitments.

What you will do

  • Evangelize agile best practices, by demonstrating an open Agile mindset, innovation & being an active change agent. Ensures a Agile tools strategy is implemented with RBC.
  • Ensures Portfolio achieves a steady state of flow through effective agile coaching and metrics reporting
  • Responsible for ensuring the roadmap is updated by the Portfolio Owner/Product Management regularly
  • Accountable for the governance & compliance of work being performed in the Portfolio
  • Aligns outcomes/strategic themes to Initiatives/Epics within and outside of the Portfolio
  • Coaches Portfolio on agile ways of working
  • Responsible for Portfolio communications & operations
  • Organize and facilitate all LPM Team ceremonies & meetings
  • Manages Portfolio Kanban
  • Reports progress toward outcomes, Investment & performance targets
  • Proactively manage, escalate and resolve Portfolio-level obstacles, risks, issues, impediments and dependencies impacting multiple teams/groups
  • Proactively identify and resolve major non-technology related issues impacting multiple teams/groups (both within and outside of the Portfolio), escalating as needed and managing the resolution
  • Proactively identify & lead areas needing process improvement, facilitate solutions and escalate accordingly
  • Create, implement and socialize LPM/Portfolio level metrics
  • Report Portfolio level progress, status & metrics to required stakeholders
  • Create and maintain the appropriate vehicles for open communication between Agile Teams/Trains (e.g. tracker boards) to create a trusting and safe team environment
  • Facilitate the identification of Portfolio level issues & risks through Scrum of Scrum of Scrums (S3) and ensure processes are effective
  • Ensuring agile delivery teams/trains within the Portfolio comply with governance and risk management processes
  • Build rapport/strong relationship with Product, Business Owners, Management team, Team members and other Stakeholders using a variety of techniques
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the organization to get things done
  • Active demonstration and reinforcement of CNB’s PRIDE (People, Relationships, Integrity, Dedication and Entrepreneurs) values in day-to-day activities
  • Comply fully with all Bank policies and procedures as well as all regulatory requirement
  • Complete all required training

Must-Have*

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent
  • Minimum 12 years experience working with Information Technologies
  • Minimum 10 years experience working in a agile business transformation function
  • Minimum 8 years of managerial experience
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in Financial Services

Skills and Knowledge

  • Comfortable in Ambiguity and excellent at “connecting the dots”
  • Demonstrated experience and success in influencing, leading, and coaching
  • Strong interpersonal, analytical, problem solving, facilitation, organizational, prioritization, effective decision making, and conflict resolution skills. Ability to negotiate or persuade others in complex situations.
  • Experience coaching leaders at all levels of the hierarchy in Agile ways of working
  • Expert in Agile environment using Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe), Scrum, XP, Kanban, or other Agile methodologies
  • Experience working with Lean Portfolio Management team(s)
  • Experience leading distributed/virtual teams
  • Knowledgeable about APIs and API interfaces
  • Strong direct people management, leadership, planning, and organizational skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to translate technical information to non-technical audiences and vice versa of various levels in the organization. (e.g., executive, management, individual contributors)
  • Ability to communicate and persuade at all management levels.
  • Strong problem solving and analysis skills, combined with impeccable business judgment and ability to communicate with highly technical and business management teams
  • Demonstrates resilience and flexibility when presented with challenges or changing priorities
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio) and SharePoint.
  • Strong understanding of project management methodologies and procedures.
  • Able lead analysts and plan work in a structured team environment on task and timeline driven work

  • Strong people management skills, including an understanding of how to mentor, coach, and develop team members.
  • Ability to identify and implement training & development plans
  • Ability to build and sustain collaborative and productive relationships with business and technical partners
  • Familiar with Business Requirements tools
  • Knowledgeable in project management methodologies and procedures.
  • Experience working with 3rd party vendor applications
  • Experience working in a multi-vendor (outsourced) environment strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience in motivating and leading teams

Compensation

Starting base salary: $127,626 – $237,014 per year. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. This job is eligible for bonus and/or commissions.
