USC Health Sciences Advancement is seeking a Senior Manager Copywriter and Digital Content Strategy.
This position will report directly to the Executive Director of Advancement Communications.
This position is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing comprehensive programs that promote creative and effective acknowledgement, recognition, stewardship and engagement of donors to USC Health Sciences.
This position will work collaboratively with colleagues across the USC Health Sciences Advancement (HSA) team to develop or leverage existing programs that will cultivate the interest and involvement of donors and prospects for the Keck Foundations.Essential job duties include, but are not limited to:* Oversees all aspects of production for Health Sciences publications.
Recommends content and format, determines writing and editorial assignments, ensures accurate, cost effective, and timely completion and distribution of all projects.* Writes and edits documents for USC Health Sciences, such as advertising copy, articles, books, brochures bulletins, catalogs, letters, manuals and/or other training materials, newsletters, press releases, programs, proposals, speeches, technical reports, etc.* Identifies and determines topics or subjects for various projects.* Develops and manages publications calendar/s.* Curates artwork, such as photos, charts, graphs or illustrations, as needed.* Develops and produces reports of editorial activities.
Evaluates projects and/or publication effectiveness and recommends future action/s.* Develops and manages publication budget/s.
Provides projections and reports for budget development and administration purposes.Preferred Qualifications:* 5+ year of related experience.
Relevant education or related experience as substitute.
Experience in a complex medical or academic development setting encouraged.* Strong understanding of the issues, nuances and needs of research, teaching and clinical operations in a complex health sciences research and/or university environment.* Excellent written and verbal skills* Ability to multi-task effectively* Excellent organizational skills* Sound judgment and decision making* A cooperative and team-oriented attitude* Diplomacy; ability to cultivate and maintain relationships* Effective facilitator in various settings* Analyze data* Compose correspondence and proposals* Conduct presentations* Document activities* Prepare reports* Research informationFollows established USC and department policies, procedures, objectives, performance improvement, attendance, safety, environmental, and infection control guidelines, including adherence to the workplace Code of Conduct and Compliance Plan.
