Senior Manager, Content Operations

We are a quickly growing VC-funded startup based in San Francisco, with additional offices in Los Angeles.  We have created online classes taught by famous masters— Gordon Ramsay, Serena Williams, Neil deGrasse Tyson, Sara Blakely, David Sedaris, Bobbi Brown, Timbaland, Anna Wintour and many more to come.

Since launching in 2015, we have been growing o ur team.

This year on the Content Team, we are focusing on building out a robust Operations and Project Management Team within Content to focus on planning, strategy, and building a muscle around project management.

We are looking for a Sr.

Manager level leader who is eager to help build out this department within Content.

What we are looking for:

  • A hyper-organized self-starter who has the ability to see the bigger picture and also be thorough and demonstrate excellent follow-through.

    Can be trusted to own. 

  • Someone who can thrive in ambiguity and break down large, complex project goals into digestible and actionable steps. 
  • Someone who is eager to roll up their sleeves and is eager to be a team player 
  • A creative-at-heart: Someone who is personally interested in the creative process and the art behind the work of creating/producing content.

    Ideally, someone who is familiar with live-productions and understands the nuances of content via live, on-set productions.

  • Experience and/or great familiarity with Project Management, seeing projects through the full life cycle from ideation to delivery.

    This includes, but is not limited to: creating and managing schedules and budgets, coordination of vendors, crew and creatives across cross-functional teams. 

  • An experienced people-manager with a demonstrated track record of building and managing thriving teams.

Responsibilities of the role:

  • Provide support for the Head of Content Operations on operational change management initiatives to set the Content Team (150+ people) up for success.

    Examples of initiatives include team organization restructuring, identifying and implementing the right enterprise work management system/tool for the team, or creating a new training process for all new incoming Content Team members

  • Manage the resource allocation and assignments process for the team. 
  • Partner with the Talent Team to facilitate an effective hand-off and onboarding/kick-off process for all incoming projects 
  • Identify and codify best practices in project management across all projects and work with other managers/coordinators on the team to implement a new process around project management for Content 
  • Partner with the Finance team to identify process improvements on project budgeting and accounting
  • Identify areas within the current workflow and process to increase efficiency.

    Activate change on identified areas and demonstrate an ROI of changes.

Requirements:

  • 6+ years of relevant work experience, preferably in Content/Creative and/or the entertainment/production industry 
  • 3+ years directly managing teams
  • Experience in operating a team of 100+ people 
  • Demonstrated experience with change management and operational change implementations 
  • Experience working with cross-functional leaders in Human Resources, Recruiting, Legal, Finance, Accounting.
  • Strong familiarity with project management software tools, methodologies, and best practices
  • Ability to navigate complex situations, and meet competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, Google Cloud Suite.

    Familiarity with keynote a plus.

  • Comfortable giving presentations to groups of 20+ people, including senior leadership
