Job Summary

The Senior Manager of the Center for Organizational Effectiveness applies both strategic critical thinking and strategy skills to translate organizational development strategies into tactics across L.A.

Care.

This position oversees the execution of these strategies and tactics to ensure department’s ability to sustaining a high performing workforce, as well as leadership and management team across the organization.

The Senior Manager is responsible for developing people strategy and change management, and consults with regard to organizational coaching needs to management and line staff.

This position is expected to utilize independent judgment, relying on professional experience and creative problem solving, to plan, execute and accomplish job responsibilities and department goals.

The Senior Manager will own the process of performance management across the enterprise, and connected development initiatives such as mentorship, internship, succession planning, high potential, rotational and employee development programs.

The Senior Manager will utilize Human Resources (HR) data and best practices to drive a high performance culture that fosters employee engagement, accountability and overall organizational success.

The Senior Manager will also apply organizational development theory to eliminate duplication of efforts and resources across the enterprise.

This role works in a matrixed environment with business operations and effectively leverage resources in different locations across the organization.

Duties

Guide the development and execution of workforce strategy consistent with the mission, vision, values and business objectives of the organization.

Lead workforce development programs, including mentorship, succession and professional development.

Manage and implement processes that enable managers to lead their teams through change in a matrixed environment.

Drive organizational culture change by identifying and project managing key activities and stakeholders.

Design and implement change and transition strategies that enable business maturity, transition and continued evolution.

Identify core and functional competencies.

Conduct assessments to determine measures required to enhance employee job performance and overall company performance.

Identify performance and development gaps and coach team members to close gaps.

Manage assessment tools and development plans.

Provide management and supervision to career development staff.

Provide coaching and partner with HR Business Partners in providing teambuilding support to team leaders and members.

Manage executive coaching engagements (identifies need and manages SOW).

Support and collaborates with other HR verticals leaders in developing partnership strategies to enhance the value and cost-effectiveness of all management and workforce, and participates in overall decision making as a member of the HR management team for the execution of company and departmental strategic goals.

Lead the Performance Management Process including annual review and development process by developing overall framework to encourage employee contribution with an emphasis on quality work, continuous improvement, key employee retention, high performance and growth; along with HRIS Integration, manage COE owned HRIS modules including performance management workgroup.

Collaborate closely with key stakeholders to ensure successful implementation and integration of great strategic training initiatives.

Provide organizational development strategies and applies theories to eliminate duplication of efforts, departments and resources across L.A.

Care.

Lead change initiatives, assesses impact, and communicates in support of leadership and organizational strategies.

Oversight of Employee Engagement Survey administration and action planning.

Provide expertise in areas of management and supervisorial development.

Follows up to ensure early, appropriate and consistent resolution.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Education Required

Bachelor’s Degree in Liberal Studies or Related Field
In lieu of degree, equivalent education and/or experience may be considered.

Experience

Required:
At least 6-8 years in Organizational Development experience within a professional/ business environment with at least 4-5 years management/supervisory or equivalent experience.

Demonstrated experience leading teams across matrixed reporting structures.

Demonstrated experience leading culture change initiatives.

Demonstrated experience in human resources leadership development, succession planning, people/ organizational strategy, performance-related tools, organizational design, and communication required.

Experience designing and implementing successful leadership development programs and organizational competency models.

Demonstrated experience in executing initiatives, providing project management and subject matter expertise to Business Support Services in supporting their clients.

Experience with development and assessment tools to be used with individuals or groups will be essential: Lominger, Birkman, MBTI, 360 instruments as examples.

Preferred:
Human Resource experience working in Healthcare setting
