Reporting to the Vice President, Human Resources, this position is responsible for providing day-to-day management and administration of HR-related functions across all business units in conjunction with senior HR management and corporate HR staff.
This position will be assigned to carry out responsibilities in one (or more) of the following functional areas: employee relations, performance management, employee engagement and retention, policy implementation, employment law and compliance.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Deliver customized, responsive, timely and effective guidance and support (including policy application), requiring advanced judgment on a broad range of HR-related issues (engagement, leader effectiveness, employee development, employee engagement, communication, change management, recognition, disciplinary action, retention, and performance assessment)
Provide instrumental advice to managers with the intent to improve working relationships, build morale, increase productivity, reduce risk, and improve retention
Develop, implement, and administer a broad range of HR policies and programs, with specific attention onboarding, engagement, leaves of absence, employee relations, and performance management
Manage and resolve complex employee relations issues, conducting effective, thorough, and objective investigations, working with senior HR management in responding to issues, complaints, and grievances
Drive solutions designed to further streamline, centralize, automate, or create efficiencies in the delivery of HR services, with particular emphasis on how to further leverage our existing systems and partner across HR and all other business units as necessary
Manage the annual performance review and goal planning program, in conjunction with senior HR management
Develop strong partnerships with managers and employees across all business units, becoming a trusted internal HR consultant with the ability to influence decision-making and foster positive relationships between the HR function and the company at large
Maintain in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, as well as larger trends in labor and employment law, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance
Conduct audits of HR activities and practices (including records administration) to ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and applicable law
Responsible for the creation and maintenance of all job descriptions, working with compensation to ensure salary ranges are in-line with budget and market and are compliant with the FLSA
Champion HR and Corporate initiatives, driving employee engagement, ensuring a collaborative workforce across all business units
Works with HR staff on reviewing and revising HR-related policies and procedures
Participate in the annual departmental goals/objectives process
Some travel (25%) may be required
Serve as lead on projects or ad-hoc committees as a reliable, trust-worthy HR representativeÂ
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelors Degree in HR or related field
8-10 years’ experience in broad based HR
Strong understanding of state and federal labor law and regulations
Working knowledge of all core aspects of HR management (employee relations, performance management, leave of absences, , labor law; compliance, compensation and benefits, etc.)
Strong experience in resolving employee relations and conducting investigations, required
SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, or SPHR highly desirable
