Senior Fuel Scheduling Manager

The Menzies Aviation Senior Fuel Scheduling Manager manages the fuel logistics of the LAXFUEL Corporation jet fuel storage system, including airport and off-airport terminals to ensure adequate jet fuel inventories for both individual suppliers and on a total basis, which has a financial impact on our customers and their fuel suppliers; controlling the amounts of fuel they can purchase directly affects the price of the fuel. Works in an advisory capacity and provides accurate projections and detailed actual inventory information to both suppliers and airlines in a timely and efficient manner.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collects source documents that pertain to off-site and on-site fuel movements
  • Inputs information into database
  • Obtains projections from inventory holders and airlines in order to make independent decisions regarding thruput
  • Advise said inventory holders to assist in their purchasing decisions
  • Verifies pipeline batches and updates fuel inventory projections daily for every inventory holder to ensure adequate fuel supply
  • Assists the Accounting Manager in overseeing the accuracy of the fuel inventories recorded by the fuel accounting staff
  • Coordinate with suppliers and terminal operators in scheduling marine cargoes of jet fuel into off-airport storage terminals leased by LAXFUEL Corp
  • Responsible to report cargo data to LAXFUELs Customs Broker for U.S. Customs
  • Validates monthly closing reports with the terminal operators, and LAXFUELs Customs Broker for U.S Customs compliance
  • Obtains projections from inventory holders and airlines in order to make independent decisions regarding throughput
  • Advise said inventory holders to assist in their purchasing decisions
  • Collect and interpret the data in a timely manner and identify patterns and trends in the data sets
  • Candidate will act as the primary database administrator for all fuel receipts, transfers, and issuances
  • Candidate will implement predictive modeling to minimize bottlenecks, shortages, and long inventory levels

Qualifications

  • Four-year degree with an emphasis in Engineering, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field
  • Previous work experience in related industry can be substituted for education requirement. Prior experience in fuel scheduling, manufacturing planning, or fuel terminal operations considered a plus
  • Ability to proficiently read, write and speak English
  • Ability to work independently and multi-task is necessary
  • Basic knowledge of pipeline operations including inventory management
  • Microsoft Office with emphasis in Excel, with ability to learn any proprietary systems that may be implemented at any time
  • Must utilize critical thinking and problem-solving skills in performing fuel inventory projections, and ad hoc analyses as needed
  • It is necessary that computer entries and projections be accurate to avoid costly mistakes in the resulting reports.; these fuel inventory reports are the basis of the fuel projections necessary to meet the operational requirements of the airlines, which directly affect their fuel purchases and costs
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required
  • Enjoys dealing with people daily
  • Continuous communications with field operating personnel, pipeline accounting, connecting pipelines and management
  • Must be available remotely after normal business hours to assist in any fuel supply emergencies, as all of the jet fuel terminals operate 24 hours per day
