The Brokerage Workflow team is building a platform to manage everything from agent onboarding, to contract terms, to commission processing, to payments.
Historically, agents have to manually enter data into a number of places.
We have several systems where agents enter their deal data, salesforce, netsuite, skyslope etc.
We’re trying to make this much easier by creating one platform for the agent’s financial transaction data.
The rest of the Compass engineering org will use this platform as a microservice framework to build on top of.
This will also drive the development of applications for internal transaction coordinators and commission specialists.
What We Look For Be a subject matter expert in relevant technology and product domains Lead and mentor engineers and tech leads Lead the effort in developing and launching multiple new products, and maintaining and improving existing products Contribute technically to projects Contribute to creating an excellent work environment and engineering culture Contribute to building top quality engineering teams and technology practices Assist in designing, developing, shipping, and maintaining mobile experiences across platforms Mentor and coach software engineers through 1:1s and performance evaluations.
Manage a team of 5
– 10 people and work closely with them to build out career pathing through 1:1s, performance reviews, advocating for raises and promotions.
Will be a connector across engineering teams to drive sound technical and architecture decisions that help effectively scale our products What We Look For 5 years of software engineering experience and 2 years of management experience A highly technical, hands-on developer and an effective people manager with experience directly leading teams Experience in designing, developing, and maintaining web applications, distributed backend systems or data platforms Proven track record of agile management with multiple engineering teams and products Excellent communication skills, utilized to collaborate both within Engineering and across All Functions Of The Company To Drive Engineering Initiatives Excellent mentoring and review skills to help engineers make technical and career progress BA/BS in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience, MS/PhD preferred Excellent mentoring and review skills to help engineers make technical and career progress You have experience with many of the following technologies: Java, AWS, Kafka, React, Python, MVC Excellent in balancing team morale, while continuing to execute against aggressive deadlines.
