Senior Director of Pre-College Programs
Apply Strategic and Global Initiatives Los Angeles, California

USC is seeking a Senior Director of Pre-College Programs to lead the program development, implementation and growth efforts for USC’s pre-college programing that includes university-level academic exploration and college access initiatives for outstanding high school students.

We are looking for someone with excellent management and communication skills, the ability to collaborate with a wide range of roles and departments within the university, and equal strengths as an individual contributor and team leader.

The successful candidate will have experience developing and running online and on-campus programs for high school students with increasing levels of responsibility with managerial oversight related to program marketing, content development, operations and faculty or presenter support.

Related experience can come from a range of sectors including higher education, K-12, community organizations, museums, etc.

We are looking to welcome a proven leader who is comfortable with technology, online learning and digital marketing tools. 

USC Pre-College programs includes Summer Programs for high school students and Bovard Scholars, both are administered by USC Bovard College whose mission is to remove barriers to higher education and support career achievement; the Sr.

Director will report to the Executive Director and Chief Marketing Officer for Bovard College and Strategic and Global Initiatives.

The position will be located on the University Park Campus.

Job Accountabilities:
Partner with senior leadership to understand programmatic priorities, develop proposals, contribute to strategic initiatives and routinely report on progress.

Manage and support program teams, refine roles and responsibilities for best alignment and outcomes, and identify short and long-term staffing needs to meet program goals.

Lead and measure all recruiting, marketing and communication efforts ensuring alignment with the USC brand and tone of voice.

Continuously review, evaluate and evolve operating and administrative policies.

Develop relationships with school partners, drive communication and collaboration around course evaluations, new proposed courses and co-branded outreach efforts.

Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:
Master’s degree or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

A minimum of 7 years of experience working in programs for high school students.

Demonstrated experience leading and managing multi-functional teams during programmatic and enrollment growth.

Excellent analytical, written and communication skills are required with experience providing executive summaries and routine updates on progress and anticipated challenges to senior leadership.

Proven cultural competencies of international students and underserved communities.

Expertise in evaluating and developing operating procedures, formulating policy and implementing new strategies using data and achieving stated objectives.

Comfortable with public speaking and presenting to large groups of peers, parents and students.

Outstanding interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills, with exemplary attention to detail.

Experience in higher education and/or customer service.

Proven ability to plan, implement, coordinate and organize program logistics.

Demonstrated database/data entry experience.

Proven project management and problem solving skills, able to handle multiple timelines, changing priorities, and fluctuating workloads.
