Senior Cyber Risk Consultant

Zurich Resilience Solutions is seeking a Senior Cyber Risk Consultant to join our fast-growing team, with a focus on cyber security program assessment and improvement. This role will be based in the Los Angeles metropolitan area.

This will be an important customer-focused role within the Zurich Resilience Solutions cybersecurity consulting team. Our team of information security experts provides cyber risk guidance to customers and internal business partners. The main responsibilities of this role will be delivering fee-based cybersecurity consulting services, including leading medium-term consulting engagements to help customers improve their risk profiles, specifically:

 

  • You will use your technical knowledge and experience to develop an understanding of the customer’s cyber vulnerabilities, cybersecurity defenses, business continuity preparedness, and other critical security risk management practices, as guided by industry standards (such as NIST Cybersecurity Framework, and others). Ultimately you will produce a comprehensive report with pragmatic recommendations for risk improvement.
  • In other cases, you will serve to guide customers through accomplishing these objectives, which can include incident response planning, third-party risk management, tabletop exercises, virtual CISO consulting, etc.
  • You will contribute to and produce thought leadership and risk insights to help educate customers and prospects on cyber risk best practices
  • Finally, you will occasionally collaborate with and support Cyber Underwriting by providing assessment of renewal and prospect customers.

 

Cyber Risk Pre-Sales Consultant Basic Qualifications: 

                                                                          

  • Bachelor’s degree and 6 or more years of experience in the Cybersecurity / Cyber Risk area 
    OR 
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent and 8 or more years of experience in the Risk Management and Cybersecurity / Cyber Risk area
    OR
  • Zurich Certified Apprentice, including an Associates degree and 6 or more years of experience in the Cybersecurity / Cyber Risk area 
    AND
  • Demonstrated experience with cyber security consulting and implementation
  • Experience working in a team environment 

 

Preferred Qualifications: 

 

  • A bachelor’s degree in information security, Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related degree program with an emphasis on cybersecurity.
  • CISSP, CISM, CISA, Security+, and/or other relevant designations/certifications
  • Experience scoping and delivering consultative professional services engagements including development, review and tabletop exercises of Incident Response Plans, Disaster Recovery Plans and Business Continuity Plans; Cyber Risk Gap Analyses, Virtual CISO consulting, etc.
  • Ability to develop proposals, negotiate fees, and secure professional service contracts with customers
  • Knowledge of and ability to manage relationships with third party and Managed Service Providers, and brokers
  • Ability to assess risks associated with Cybersecurity across various industries and develop insightful reports  
  • Expertise with cybersecurity frameworks such as the NIST Cyber Security Framework, ISO 27001, COBiT, HIPAA, PCI, GDPR, and other relevant industry-specific frameworks and regulations, with specific understanding Cyber / Network Security architecture (layers of defense)
  • Experience with project management skills and techniques
  • Experience in cyber insurance
  • Motivation to self-educate and to be aware of current threats, attack techniques and risk mitigation tactics
  • Ability to train other technical and non-technical audiences on cybersecurity assessment techniques
  • Able to present in front of large audiences

 

Compensation for roles at Zurich varies depending on a wide array of factors including but not limited to the specific office location, role, skill set, and level of experience. The Compensation provided is a nationwide market range and has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location where the position may be filled. As required by local law, Zurich provides in good faith a reasonable range of compensation for roles. For additional information about our Total Rewards, click here. The starting salary range for the Senior Cyber Risk Consultant position is: $119,400.00 – $164,100.00.
