The incumbent will extend the universitys athletic brand affinities with businesses and corporations to achieve LMU Athletics objectives in alignment with the universitys brand platform, strategic marketing and engagement plans, and a loyal collegiate sports fan base. The position works proactively with university colleagues, including LMU Marketing and Brand Management and LMU External Relations to discover, develop, leverage, and promote partners who accomplish identified revenue stream generation activities, support the universitys mission and vision, and integrate with the universitys unified brand and marketing plans. The position is responsible for accomplishing specific targets that support LMU Athletics and the universitys revenue generation goals.Position Specific Responsibilities: Develop, manage and sell all corporate sponsorship packages for the department, overseeing all available traditional, digital, and non-traditional assets using existing and new relationships to leverage LMU Athletics while providing excellent customer service.Execute a strategic plan to achieve annual Departmental corporate sponsorship budgetary goals and maximize revenue potential.Represent LMU Athletics in multimedia rights negotiations, supplementing the existing WCC agreements with creative solutions through the delivery of linear and digital television rights, audio play-by-play and commentary rights, website and social media, and publications. In conjunction with the Associate AD for Marketing and Engagement and MarComm colleagues, devise and implement integrated plans for forward-thinking strategies and tactics to position LMU Athletics optimally with sponsors, fans, alumni, and students and to balance short-term revenue gains with long-term revenue opportunities and reputational considerations.Liaise and collaborate with LMU External Relations to ensure outreach strategies, relationship cultivation approach, and Athletics partnership plans are synchronized, coordinated, and optimized to accomplish intended outcomes. Participate actively on the universitys External Relations Council and assure outreach strategies and tactics align with the universitys integrated and strategic partnership plans.Align strategies and activities with the universitys brand platform/framework and ensure sponsorships and brand associations support and enhance the universitys reputation, mission, marketplace objectives, and growth objectives.Collaborate proactively with University Auxiliary Services, Marketing, Communications, and External Relations, University Advancement, and Athletic Ticketing to identify, develop, and deepen partnerships that may benefit LMU Athletics or other university units.Serve as a member of the Athletic Department Executive Staff, working directly with the Athletic Director and other Executive Staff members to shape the departments culture and direction through leadership.Supervise account executive tasked with growth of the LMU Athletics brand through strategic partnerships, setting goals, and utilizing best-in-class sales metrics to evaluate performance.Stay current with industry trends to maximize potential rule changes within the NCAA, creating a model corporate sponsorship program run internally.Exhibit behavior that supports the mission, vision, and values of the university.
