What You Will Do
The home base for this dream job is in Downtown Los Angeles but we are open to long-term remote work. The following is a sneak peek into what an IT Systems/Applications Manager looks like:
* Manage a team of analysts and programmers responsible for the analysis, improvement and integration of new and existing business systems.
* Demonstrate a deep level of understanding not only of technical systems but their relation to business operations and proactively seek ways to improve business functions.
* Monitor core production systems, applications, including job scheduling, verification of results, and quality control.
* Manage IT systems and application staff in day-to-day performance of their jobs, ensure adherence to best practices and credit union policy.
* Provide input to strategic direction and tactical oversight of application environment and its utilization.
Who You Are
You are a really strong Applications Programmer III. In addition:
* You are dedicated and motivated with excellent communication skills.
* You respect confidentiality. You handle all matters confidentially and with discretion.
* You have excellent servant leadership skills.
* You have a bachelors degree in computer science or software development, or equivalent college/technical school, or a combination of education and experience.
* You have 5 to 7 years of Information Technology experience, preferably in credit unions in similar roles.
* You have 3 to 5 years of people management experience.
* You have experience with the following programs: Symitar (strongly preferred); AIX/Unix; SQL systems and minimum 4 years of any combination of HTML, JavaScript, JQuery, Java, Python, Ruby, PowerShell, Visual Basic, .NET, PowerOn; and Symform, SymPDF and Symconnect (strongly preferred).
* You have demonstrated the ability to create, maintain and document solutions using a combination of Object-Oriented languages, SQL and APIs.
* You can independently lead projects to successful resolution and coordinate with multiple stakeholders
* You are approachable and have the knack to assist others with issues.
* You are flexible and adapt to change.
* You are able to collaborate, follow direction, be a team player, yet work independently.
* You problem-solve and exercise good judgment.
* You can travel to our LA-based satellite locations at a moments notice within the workday.
* You have been complimented on your communication skills and pride yourself on being able to vocalize I love working in a group and facilitating the best possible outcome!

Other Important Information
Youll be asked to work Monday through Friday40 hours per week. Right now, we work remote but that is subject to change. However, we are open to long term remote work. Youll use standard office equipment such as computers, phones, printers, copiers and filing cabinets. The position also requires manual dexteritythe ability to lift files and flex paperclips. You may be required to stand on one leg, tap your head, and compound daily variable interest in your head. Just kiddingnobody can do that on one leg.
