Cleveland-Cliffs Steel is looking for a Section Manager Environmental Control/Boiler House at our Butler, PA operation.
This position will direct, coordinate, and exercise functional authority for planning, organization, control, integration, and completion of maintenance and engineering projects within the plant.
The Section Manager will be responsible for the Environmental Control department’s documentation involving Safety, Quality, and Environmental compliance.
Primary Responsibilities: Plans and formulates environmental operating and compliance activities, as well as engineering programs and organizes staff according to project and plant requirements.
Ensures department complies with all governmental and company environmental policies associated with air and with quality waste disposal activities and other contaminates.
Assigns management and contracted personnel to specific phases or aspects of projects such as technical studies, project design, and preparation of specifications and technical plans.
Supervise and control the work activities of shift managers and bargaining unit employees.
Coordinates operation and maintenance activities to ensure optimum utilization of power system facilities and meets plants demands for availability of mill water and waste water systems.
Perform other duties as needed.
Qualifications: Strong analytical skills for problem solving Good understanding of compliance requirements and Environmental Control Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Word and Excel Excellent communication and organizational skills Willingness to work rotating shifts, weekends, and holidays Preferred Qualifications: Associates or Bachelors degree in technical or engineering discipline Supervisory experience in a union environment.
