The SAFO Manager ensures quality control through production and ensures the team is fully versed and knowledgeable about Italian cuisine, meats and cheeses to provide product recommendations.Reports directly to the General Manager of Retail and to the Fresh Market Manager. Reports functionally to the Head of Salumi and Formaggi, Eataly North America. Supervises and motivates the team to increase sales, efficiency, and work positively and professionallyManages stock levels and product purchases under the umbrella of Eataly’s buying programAssists in ordering supplies and merchandise as neededCommunicates with main production kitchen as well as all restaurants to ensure that all orders are fulfilledProduces and supervises various cuts of meats and cheesesManages production schedule to achieve maximum efficiencyEnsures department is meeting quality, health and safety standardsCommunicates any technical or mechanical issues to the appropriate departmentDevelops staff through effective training, coaching and feedback on performanceAssists with employee hiring, assignment, training, payroll, scheduling, evaluations and terminationsDocuments, investigates and resolves employee and guest incidentsPerforms other duties as required or assignedQualifications2+ years of retail supervisory or management experienceAbility to lead and manage a teamAbility to effectively communicate with upper management, staff and guestsExcellent time management skillsGood knowledge of and passion for Italian technique and cuisineHigh school diploma or equivalent preferred2+ years of food production experience highly preferredJob RequirementsAbility to exert well-paced mobility for periods of up to 8 hoursAbility to lift up to 45-50 pounds for short periods of timeFood Handlers License preferredAdditional InformationBenefits and PerksMedical, Dental, Vision InsurancePaid Time OffPaid Parental Leave401K with match or RRSPBonus programFree family meal dailyDiscounts at EatalyClasses on products and Italian cuisineReferral bonus programand more!Eataly is an equal employment opportunity employer.
