We are looking for a Sales Manager , to effectively manage and grow Faribault Foods, Inc.
portfolio of Regional Brands and Private Label products.
Successfully manage all businesses and increase profitability through regional strategy development, effective management of broker partners and positive customer relationships.
Work cross functionally to generate new ideas, improve current businesses, increase productivity and promote a strong company culture.
Responsibilities: Develop, communicate and implement Faribault Foods, Inc.
vision, goals and plans.
Plan and achieve annual sales plan through effective “Planning-Execution-Monitoring-Analyzing.” Work closely and proactively with all internal departments: Finance – P&L and COG reviews, determining & executing price changes, trade fund reporting, etc.
Quality Assurance – Product specifications, customer audits, etc.
Supply Chain Logistics – Customer service/lead times, transportation methods, pick-up vs.
delivered, etc.
Research and Development – Stage Gate Process/new item development, product improvement, etc.
Manufacturing & Operations – Inventory & forecast management, etc.
Sourcing – Planning for future crops, review cost components and their annual changes, etc.
Manage direct Brokers within assigned territory, establishing sales goals (volume & trade spending) and giving direction to help them succeed, including management of shelf space and merchandising objectives.
Direct selling to account without broker support.
Manage both Grocery and Distributor channels.
Communicate to all internally the complexity and needs in order to make the businesses more efficient.
Establish and manage Branded trade and marketing funding working side-by-side with the trade fund analyst and trade management software (Vistex).
Create added value by cultivating strategic relationships with the key customers across a variety of classes of trade at all management levels.
Communicate and deliver input internally on market pricing, distribution, market changes, and competitive activity.
Provide recommendations on how we can better compete and improve business.
Ongoing strategic planning, forecasting and business analysis for all markets using FFI’s business intelligence software (Power BI) and market data (AC Nielsen).
Maintain knowledge of margin requirements for both promoted and non-promoted volume down to account level.
Attend sales calls (with Broker partners) to pursue new business, manage current business and the development of key customers utilizing fact based selling skills.
Includes traveling to appropriate markets and customers equating to 25-30% travel.
Assist with developing new items to profitably expand business.
Participate in appropriate Trade and Industry functions while exploring all classes of trade for new business opportunities.
Assist in the deduction process in a timely and prudent manner for quick resolution of all deduction issues.
Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree and/or 3-5 years in the CPG industry Preferred broker, vendor and/or customer management experience Strong interpersonal skills, ability to work independently, take initiative, problem solve, and be very detail oriented Computer literate – proficiency in Microsoft Office; Compose Word, Excel and PowerPoint documents as required SEARCH FIRM REPRESENTATIVES PLEASE READ CAREFULLY: Faribault Foods is not seeking assistance or accepting unsolicited resumes from search firms for this employment opportunity.
