Job Overview

We are currently looking for a Sales Director to join our Sales Team in Los Angeles, CA.

 

As a Sales Director, you will: 

 

Be responsible for developing, directing and implementing sales goals and objectives for the assigned sales team. Support the area sales team by establishing expectations and activities to drive new business and maintain relationships with current clients.  

Job Responsibilities

  • Meet or exceed top line revenue by maintaining and growing existing accounts and securing new business through execution of team business plans.
  • Develop and implement strategies and accountability for expanding customer base and achieving sales goals and objectives. Communicate strategy and ensures understanding of goals and deliverables; hold team accountable for achieving plan to reach profitable business outcomes.
  • Build and grow account development plans including campaigns, personal client engagement plans, influencer plans, and target account strategy; considers market conditions and impact of global change and adjusts plans to respond effectively to reach sales targets.
  • Executes leader standard work to drive accurate forecasting, pipeline fulfillment, product mix attainment, business plan development/execution and activities for increasing win rates.
  • Maintain collaborative relationships with distribution partners through monthly joint strategy planning and development for execution of market share growth initiatives.
  • Maintain active presence in market, developing high quality relationships with C-Suite contacts, real estate, project management firms, and key accounts; network to understand trends and communicate brand, and actively pursue development of new business.
  • Collaborates with Global Accounts Directors to align appropriate area resources to support territory-based locations of Global accounts and ensure client expectations are met.
  • Work collaboratively with cross-functional leadership/teams regarding development and implementation of corporate plans, aligning initiatives, strategies, resources and communications for meeting profitability and organizational goals and objectives.
  • Implement established policies, procedures, and programs to support strategic goals of organization and ensure teams’ adherence and consistency in execution to meet required deliverables.
  • Learns to effectively develop appropriate coaching methods to improve performance and behaviors of team and create positive team culture. Adheres to company policies/practices with hiring, training, development, and performance management activities. 
  • Conduct 1:1s and monthly dashboard reviews with team to ensure effective business plan execution, deliver coaching and sharing of best practices; holds team accountable for achieving objectives.
  • Drive member engagement and retention efforts by developing and implementing action plans to improve engagement. Support member career development by guiding and coaching members with their development plans.

Do you have these required qualifications?

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, sales, architecture, interior design, marketing, communication, or equivalent.
  • 8 years of sales and account development experience, including 6 years within commercial interiors, contract furniture systems, commercial real estate, and/or architectural workplace solutions industries
  • 3 years of experience in a sales supervisory role with sales direct reports responsible for carrying a quota
  • Ability to work in Los Angeles, CA without relocation assistance 
  • Current and continuing right to work in the United States without sponsorship
  • Ability to travel up to 60% of the time, including internationally

Do you have these preferred qualifications?

  • Sales experience in the office furniture industry. 
  • Experience working with A&D and real estate companies. 
  • Experience working at or with a dealership. 
  • Quota retirement responsibilities. 
  • Knowledge of the competitive landscape and key influencers in the X.

Ideally, you have also demonstrated the following:

  • Visionary leader capable of initiating ideas and implementing strategies. 
  • Ability to connect across geographies and corporate headquarters to align actions with business directives/company initiatives. 
  • Excellent verbal, written, listening, and presentation skills. 
  • Ability to coach and develop people, build teams, deliver results, and facilitate change. 
  • Ability to successfully manage others and manage territory; strong business and financial acumen skills. 
  • Strong negotiation skills to close business and manage relationships.

Compensation and Benefits

Haworth offers a competitive total rewards package including base salary determined based on the role, experience, skill set, and location. For those in eligible roles, sales incentive bonuses may be awarded in recognition of individual achievements and contributions. We also offer a range of benefits and programs to meet our member needs, based on eligibility. These benefits include comprehensive health care coverage, a retirement savings plan, tuition reimbursement, paid volunteer time, and much more. Additional details about total compensation and benefits will be provided during the hiring process. This role offers a salary range of 152k to 259k, depending on candidate experience, education, and skill set.
