Role: Business Development Director Location: This position can be based anywhere in California (SFO Bay Area and Greater LA Region preferred) The Business Development Director position is a key sales role within the Life Sciences, Healthcare and Professional Services sales team for North America.
The candidate will play a hunter role, responsible for acquiring new clients for HCL.
The role is supported by on-site and offshore Pre-Sales & Solution teams.
Key Responsibilities include: ▪ New business development activities through direct sales.
▪ Focus on primarily selling Application Development and Maintenance services.
▪ Manage the end-to-end sales process for all opportunities including initial client communication, on-site presentations, RFI response, multi-day client workshops, RFP submission, negotiation and deal signing.
The candidate is the focal point for all communication and sales activities with prospects and customers.
▪ Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets established by the Regional Sales Head and execute business development.
▪ Achieve lead generation, prospecting and other sales management goals designed to build an optimal sales pipeline.
▪ Work in close collaboration with HCL’ presales team & delivery teams to ensure that proposed offerings and services fully meet customers’ business and technology needs.
▪ Adhere to all HCL sales, Human Resource, and corporate ethical policies, standards, and guidelines.
▪ Demonstrate strong personal communication and presentation skills to establish interest, credibility, and trust.
Preferred Qualifications: ▪ Strong hunter profile with a proven track record of success in selling Next Gen Applications IT outsourcing services/technology outsourcing services in Healthcare vertical ▪ Good understanding of the overall Healthcare industry including the three major sub-verticals – Providers, Payers and Health Tech ▪ Basic understanding of Infrastructure, Cloud Operations and Cybersecurity Services ▪ Prior presales and/or consulting experience preferred ▪ At least 10 years B2B business development experience with the ability to understand market trends and attract new clients to consider complex, cutting-edge technology and IT consulting services ▪ Independence, energy, tenacity, persistence, and a never-say-die attitude ▪ Powerful storytelling ability, articulation skills, ability to rally colleagues, prospects and clients around your ideas and deals ▪ Proven ability to build, manage and foster a team-oriented environment At HCL, we don’t just accept the differences—we support it and celebrate it.
