The position of Area ManagerSales & Operations (SAM) is seen as an integral role within the organization and is an extension of the Leadership Team. The SAM will be responsible for the total oversight of studios in a designated area. Direct reports include the Studio Manager of each studio. The Area Manager position is a full-time position that demands a top-tier leader to maintain and grow the overall success of the organization. The Area Manager is a highly trusted individual with access to sensitive and confidential information. The role requires the utmost professionalism, tact and discretion. The SAM is responsible for developing the Studio Manager through maximizing sales/profitability, streamlining studio operations, supporting recruitment/optimal staffing and culture within their allocated studios. In addition, SAMs are responsible for assuring that all levels of the organization under their oversight perform in line with expectations for each role (SA, ASM, SM, HC).

Responsibilities (Within their Allocated Studios)

  • The Area Manager works in conjunction with other Area Managers and operates with the support of their Regional Manager and the Head of Studios
  • Provide leadership for and assist with the ongoing development, training and support of the Studio Managers within your designated studios
  • Is responsible for achieving studio level goals including revenue & operating expenses for each studio
  • Visit each studio monthly and ensure studios are up to WCF standards
  • Be an Orange Ambassador and always lead by example. Inspect what you expect!
  • Execute your In-Studio Checklist on every studio visit
  • Submit your pre-visit assessment form to Sales & Operations folder in Egnyte
  • Attend bi-monthly leadership meeting at WCF HQ
  • Listen to all Corporate Webinars and ensure Studio Manager attendance
  • Be current and up-to-date on all Orange University modules and e-learnings
  • Actively participate on Slack: comment, react and connect with your designated studio employees
  • Perform monthly control audits to uphold the exceptional operating standard of WCF studios
  • Perform quality assurance checks on Studio Workbooks, MBO reporting and studio labor hours (880 monthly labor hours, excluding coaches and training/onboarding)
  • Complete the regional workbook audit Monday morning
  • Ensure necessary staffing levels are maintained to satisfy studio demand while remaining within the studio budget
  • Assist in interviewing, recruiting and training of top-tier employees
  • Evaluate each Studio Manager on their performance and deliver intentional action plans to support in their on-going development
  • Uphold all studio policies and maintain the culture, atmosphere and overall member experience of WCF studios

Qualifications

Requirements

  • At least 1 year of proven experience as a Studio Manager within the Orangetheory Fitness network
  • Has a concrete understanding of the internal culture of West Coast Fitness (WCF) including, the Mission, Vision, and Values of the organization
  • Excellent organizational and leadership abilities
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Knowledge of performance evaluation metrics and guidelines
  • Extreme focus on member experience and customer service
  • Experience in the training and development of a team
  • Proven track record of meeting sales targets
  • Experience with staff scheduling and staff recruitment
  • Working knowledge of Mind Body Online
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Programs including: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, OneNote
