Responsible for acquiring new, group Taft Hartley (multi-employer, labor union trust) business through brokers, consultants, and direct to plan sponsors. nn nnThe labor market is a dedicated vertical segment at Anthem which includes jumbo-sized opportunities, while the average group size is 1000-5000 contracts. nn nn
• Responsible for mastering the Anthem suite of products to plan, prospect, and close the sales of very large, complex opportunities and accounts.nn nn
• Serves as a subject matter expert with external constituents to properly convey, position, and message our Anthem value solution to brokers, consultants, TPAs, and plan sponsors.nn nn
• Act as primary, sales relationship manager and liaison between the Boards of Trustees and plan professionals of the Benefit Funds to deliver differentiated solutions and best-in-class prospect and client experience.nn nn
• Strategizing, prospecting, and developing a sales and marketing plan to apply sales skills to acquire new, profitable business selling medical, retiree, pharmacy, clinical, and specialty/ancillary products.nn nn
• Generates lead activity maintaining a continuous and credible pipeline of opportunity while consistently making sales calls and performing capability presentations driving results.nn nn
• Diligence around thoughtful planning and strategizing using salesforce.com reporting to update sales reports for pipeline management and sales management forecasting.nn nn
• Proactively builds trusted relationships with key decision-makers, plan professional, and influencers. nn nn
• Develops and maintains market presence by attending all labor events including local state and national conferences.nn nn
• Build internal relationships working with subject matter expert peers in departments of sales support.

Examples: underwriting, medical directors, network managers, retiree, clinical, and ancillary sales peers to increase close ratios.nn nn
• Works with implementation and account management team to ensure seamless transitions.nn nn Qualifications nn nnQualifications

• BA/BS; 5 years of related group insurance experience working with public or labor business; or any combination of education and experience. nn nn
• Exhibits seasoned and experienced sales and training competencies.nn nn
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including interpersonal and presentation skills.nn nn
• Strong decision-making and organizational skills, with the ability to optimize the use of all available resources and deliver on multiple priorities.nn nn
• Extensive travel expectations in a territory including CA, CO, and NV.

Travel to each state to prospect and plan strategic meetings is required to be successful.nn nn
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (i.e.

Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).nn nn
• Master Life and Health Producer license for each state of business required as necessary.nn nn Applicable to Colorado Applicants Only nn nnAnnual Salary Range*: $92,160.00
