Safety Manager

As a Safety Manager for Cardinal Glass Industriesyou must have excellent attention to detail to identify hazardsin a manufacturing environment.You must alsobe able to discover opportunities for improving conditions andimproving currentsafety programs/policies.

Responsibilities

  • Develop andimprovehealth and safetyprograms and policesin accordance with Federal, State, and Local regulations as well as Cardinal Glass requirements
  • Prepare and enforce policies toimprove the safety culture
  • Evaluate practices, procedures and facilities to assess risk and adherence to the law
  • Conduct training and presentations fora varietyof safety topics
  • Monitor complianceof policies and regulationsby inspecting employees and operations
  • Inspect equipment and machinery to observe possible unsafe conditions
  • Investigate accidents or incidents to discover causesand if neededhandle worker’s compensation claims
  • Recommend solutions to issues, improvement opportunities, or new prevention measures
  • First Responder experience

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Environmental, Health, and Safety experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Expirence in conducting frequent safety trainings (New Hire Orientation, Toolbox Talks, Contractor safety trainings, monthly and annual required safety trainings)
  • Experience with MS Office Suite
  • Effective communication skills, positive attitude and self-motivated
  • 3-5 years of Health andSafety experience required
  • 5-8 years of Health and Safety experience preferred
  • Experience in LMS/Cornerstone, ISN, Velocity or similar programs
  • ASP, CSP, OSHT certifications highly desirable
  • Bachelors degree in a Environmental, Health, and Safety field or equivalent highly desirable
  • Bilingual (Fluent in English and Spanish) preferred
