Reporting to the Chief Nursing Officer, the ICU Director will oversee 1 or potentially 2 Managers as well as a Supervisors in the ICU, alongside a friendly team of Critical Care (ICU) RNs. The ICU Director will also collaborate with the Director of Professional Development on ongoing nursing development initiatives and the Director of Quality to improve the unit’s patient satisfaction scores and implement quality improvement projects.

The ICU Director will be responsible for strategic planning, budget management, program development, policies and procedures implementation, performance improvement and compliance. Collaboration and often meetings with other Nursing Directors, Ancillary Directors, Nursing Administration and Physicians is a very common occurrence while belonging variety of committees within the hospital. The Director must be continuously updated with what is going on the facility and what is needed to be done to reach the highest quality of care.
