Overview: The Research Program Manager (RPM) will report to the Director of Research for the AltaMed Institute for Health Equity, and work closely with the Medical Director of the Institute, the Vice President of Institute Operations, Director of Grants Management and other Directors, and staff to achieve the Institute’s research, operational, management and funding goals.
The RPM will manage and implement AltaMed-wide research, education and training, and service programs, quality improvement and safety initiatives, including developing, managing and coordinating complex project plans, calendars, and activities.
In addition, the RPM will assist with the budget adherence and adhere to legal and other compliance regulations applicable to grants/programs/projects.
The position requires extensive program management skills and experience, including the ability to define program and process objectives, bring together key stakeholders, align and allocate human, technological, and fiscal resources to accomplish goals and objectives within timelines defined in the program plan.
The position requires adaptability to shifting priorities, demands and timelines.
The RPM will provide direction to and supervise staff that support projects for the Institute.
The RPM will work with all levels of the organization in facilitating and coordinating cross-functional teams through all phases, including providing information to supervisors, co-workers, and subordinates by observing, receiving, and otherwise obtaining information from all relevant sources; analyzing information, planning, prioritizing and evaluating results to choose the best solution and solve problems.
Communicating with people outside the organization, representing the organization to customers, the public, government, and other external sources.
Responsibilities: Develop and maintain a detailed program schedule which includes administrative tasks and all sites/team members involved in the program, throughout all phases of the program.Anticipate needed program changes and adapt site based/program schedules as agreed with Director.Develop and maintain program updates and communicate with stakeholders as needed.Coordinate program meetings and maintain program meeting calendars.Ensure coordination of the interfaces of all corporate support departments, outside stakeholders and team members.Prepare and/or edit meeting minutes, presentations, plans, spreadsheets and tables.Compile summary documents, e.g.
communication to stakeholders, senior leadership, program leads, team members.Collaborate in maintaining program resource records.Ensure that all team members understand the scope of the program as well as their individual roles.Communicate relevant information to all team members, such as change in schedule dates, changes in the program requirements, unexpected challenges.Coordinate activities with external and internal partners and maintain relationships with them.Assist the Director in various activities such as budget development, monitoring and in meetings.Research, update and maintain all federal, state and county regulations applicable to a program.Provides direction to, supervises, and coordinates program work products and deliverables.Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Health Care, Organizational Management, Science or related field is required.Master’s Degree Preferred but not required.2 or more years of experience in the Health Care field is preferred.Bilingual English/Spanish is preferred.
