In order to better facilitate the public conversation, we are seeking a Research Manager to be a part of the Customer Success team.

Our research helps inspire, design, and build the products that fuel Twitter’s mission to give everyone the power to create and share ideas and information instantly, without barriers.

Research has a direct impact on product strategy, roadmaps, and the detailed design of new experiences that help users stay up to date with what matters most to them and connect to others with shared interests.

We are part of a larger design and research team that is full of amazingly hardworking and fun people who are passionate about Twitter’s ability to help people see beyond themselves and connect with the larger world in a meaningful way.nn nJob Descriptionn nn Who You Are: nn nnYou are an experienced researcher and manager with expert understanding of a wide range of qualitative and quantitative research methodologies.

You know exactly when to engage with cross-functional teams, what questions to ask, where to probe, and how to implement the most effective research strategies.

You are a creative problem-solver who seeks to deeply understand the business so that you can define the most meaningful and strategic research plans.

You thrive in a fast-paced environment and enjoy setting your own research goals, managing load and expectations, and delivering impactful research findings and recommendations.

You have a passion for leading teams and developing talent and understand how to balance the jobs of leading a team through effective coaching and delegation with leading your own projects.

You’re passionate about Twitter and believe great experiences are always inspired by a deep understanding of the user.nn nn Responsibilities nn nnLead, manage, coach and mentor a team of researchersnn nnLead the discovery of insights to drive strategy in the customer experience spacenn nnPartner with Design, Product, Engineering and Data Science teams to build in research at multiple stages of the product development processnn nnEnsure problems are approached through the integration of multiple data streams, including qual and quant researchnn nnAdvocate for insights in order to drive action and impact by providing compelling narratives and artefactsnn nnLead purposeful relationship-building with a wide array of partners and other research teamsnn nQualificationsn nnStrong foundational knowledge of qualitative and quantitative research tools and techniquesnn nnA track record of thought leadership and delivering research to inform business, marketing and product development strategies and roadmapsnn nnAn entrepreneurial mentality and a creative approach to problem-solvingnn nnStrong cross-organizational negotiating and influencing skills with the ability to sell an ideann nnForward thinkingnn nnAbility to manage through ambiguitynn nnDemonstrated ability to prioritize initiativesnn nnStrong business acumen; an understanding of business goals, strategies and pressures while being aware of industry trends and competitive actions as a context for doing researchnn nnAbility to build collaborative relationships remotely and cross-functionally to influence strategy and decisionsnn nnCan express ideas clearly and simply; listen to others; create an environment where all are comfortable expressing thoughts; and promote timely and ongoing flow of informationnn nnStrong project management skills and experience guiding multiple internal and/or outsourced projects simultaneouslynn nnA growth mentality that fuels your desire to constantly learn and improvenn nnDetail oriented and able to manage multiple projects simultaneouslynn nnExperience working with Design and Product teamsnn nnHighly interested in new and experimental methodologiesnn nn Requirements: nn nn5+ years managing a research team of multiple people at varying levelsnn nn10+ years conducting user research and/or market research, with an excellent command of both qualitative and quantitative methodsnn nnBachelor’s Degree (minimum requirement)nn nn(Optional) Advanced degree in Business (MBA), Communication, Psychology, or a related fieldnn nAdditional Informationn nnWe are committed to an inclusive and diverse Twitter.
