Research & Insights Director

Through a portfolio of 24 media brands, WAVE.tv entertains modern-day sports fans with programming they love, produced for the digital platforms where they spend the most time.

We build the most engaged digital communities for fans by distributing programming, creating content, and building products and experiences to serve their current fandoms and help them discover new ones.
WAVE.tv’s programming can be discovered across Snapchat, Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, YouTube, and more.

Our portfolio of brands has over 80 million followers/subscribers (85% 13-34 y/o), reaching over 400 million sports fans across the world each month, generating over 5 billion monthly content views.
We’re looking for a Research & Insights Director to join WAVE.tv.

You will lead research projects from inception through delivery.

You will also be responsible for keeping a pulse on our key fans, audiences, sports, our platform communities, and identifying how they are responding to and shaping culture and trends.
What you’ll do:
Partner with internal teams to understand insights about our fans, consumers and advertising solutions Design world class research & experimentation frameworks Develop and maintain relationships with the best research partner(s), academic institutions and industry partners Uncover compelling narratives to drive insights-led recommendations to business teams Analyze and interpret data to identify patterns and solutions Create detailed, visually compelling reports in Google Slides and Keynote Develop research-driven blog posts
Knowledge, Skills And Abilities
Proven ability to excel in a fast-paced environment, manage ambiguity, work flawlessly under tight deadlines, and prioritize across several simultaneous projects Exceptional attention to detail with a keen eye for presentation design and conveying granular data in a digestible way Excellent written and verbal communication skills Strong interpersonal skills with a team player attitude A passion for understanding fans of all kinds, Gen Z + millennials, sports, media and culture
Minimum Qualifications
7+ years market research or related experience Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a similar field Experience RFPing research partners Demonstrated expertise delivering virtual and IRL presentations
Preferred Qualifications
Media or sports media experience Experience in house at a research partner Trend-reporting and thought leadership Basic command of SQL or Python
