Pittsburgh offers beautiful views of our three rivers, access to fan-favorite sports teams, and so much moreAbout the jobAlcoa Transformation group is looking to fill the role of a Remediation Project Manager Transformation is charged with the global responsibility to manage Alcoa’s identified environmental liabilities and assets at closed locations and to provide technical assistance for operating locations’ waste management needs to meet overall financial and risk avoidance goals.This position will play a key role at the Remediation and Technology department and it requires project management expertise and a deep understanding of treatment technologies for water, groundwater, soil and solid waste; environmental investigation and feasibility studies; ecological and human health risk assessment; and social management issue awareness.Main responsibilities:Be accountable for identifying liabilities, developing appropriate strategies to assess and resolve process treatment and remediation issues, as well as budget forecasting and managing liability estimates through implementation.Negotiate with federal, state and local authorities for permitting, investigation and remediation of contaminated properties.Lead the interaction with property owners on access and remedial action.Maintain current understanding of the industry’s best methodologies and technology trends.Be the project manager of selected consultants and contractors consistent with Alcoa Standards.Develop and manage environmental reserves, project budgets, requisitions, and invoice approval.Develop and exhibit subject matter expertise regarding remediation technology and trendsAssist with management of bench and pilot scale test programs for process/wastewater treatment as well as waste management reuse and recycleCollaborate with Operating Locations to support air/water/solid waste management initiativesAbout you:Our values – act with integrity, operate with excellence, care for people – are at the foundation of everything we do.
To be successful in this role and to play a part in our ongoing success we desire the following background:BS degree from an accredited college or university with a major in chemical engineering, environmental engineering, or related field.
